What’s the most stressful part of planning a destination wedding? Picking the venue, most likely! Because, while you may have chosen your where, now you’re narrowing down the where of your where: what Tamarindo wedding venue is best suited to your personalities?
It really comes down to your wedding style: Do you want to exchange your “I dos” with your toes in the sand, or do you prefer a more formal space for your ceremony? Would you like to host your ceremony and reception in the same space, or are you willing to caravan between your ceremony venue and reception locale?
It all comes down to you and your future spouse: What do you dream? While you narrow that down, here are a few ideas to get you started:
The Perfect Tamarindo Wedding Venue? Your Own, Private Villa
Yes, yes – of course we’re biased! But that’s because we’ve seen, visited and attended ceremonies and receptions at all the best Tamarindo wedding venues. And, in many cases, we really do believe that a private, luxury villa offers the best flexibility and most unforgettable settings in all of Tamarindo.
If you crave the privacy, luxury and romance of a secluded, just-for-you Tamarindo wedding venue, then we strongly recommend considering a luxury vacation rental for your ceremony. Here, you won’t share your “I dos” with unknown well-wishers (or prying eyes). You won’t have to worry about “wedding hours” or after-hours charges. You won’t have to share your ceremony or reception space with other diners.
At a private home, your wedding is exactly what you want and dream it to be. Here are a few of our favorite “dreamy” Tamarindo wedding venues:
Casa Puros Dieces
This spectacular (and we do mean spectacular) luxury home is the crown jewel of Tamarindo’s luxury real estate – and one of the best wedding venues in Tamarindo. Casa Puros Dieces features Balinese-inspired design, tropical gardens, and take-your-breath-away panoramic ocean and sunset views. Plus, with 8 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms, this luxury vacation rental also houses up to 20 of your wedding guests.
If you’re after an eco-friendly Tamarindo wedding venue, look no further than El Chante, the epitome of sustainable luxury and eco-friendly architecture in Costa Rica. The home doesn’t rest on its environmental laurels, however: El Chante’s sweeping Pacific views, lush gardens, tropical jungle, and expansive decking offer ample choice for your wedding ceremony and reception. Comprised of 9 separate bungalows, El Chante will accommodate up to 20 of your overnight wedding guests.
Casa de Luz
If you dream of getting married on the beach, Casa de Luz delivers. One of the largest beachfront homes on Playa Langosta, this picture-perfect spot offers soft sands, spectacular sunsets, a palapa bar, an infinity pool, and other unbelievable locales to host your “I dos” and subsequent celebrations. Its ample 8 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms accommodate 23+ of your guests, while Casa de Luz’s event spaces are suitable for weddings of 50+.
Home to 15,000 square-feet of ocean-view luxury, the architect-designed and Bali-inspired Casa Galanga offers some of the most striking panoramas in the Tamarindo area. Small ceremonies can be hosted on one of the many terraces, gathering spaces, and outdoor areas. And, for small destination weddings, your entire group (up to 19 guests) can stay the week in the home’s 8 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms.
If you’re willing to look beyond Tamarindo’s private and most exclusive wedding venues, here are some of our favorite option:
For a casual, beachfront wedding, we love Pangas. Located at the northern end of Playa Tamarindo, where sea meets sand meets estuary, this beach-casual restaurant is a lovely destination wedding venue.
Just imagine saying your “I dos” with your feet in the sand, the brilliant sunset as a backdrop, and the crashing waves harmonizing with birdsong. It’s idyllic, it’s beautiful, and it’s memorable. What’s more, Pangas has a wonderful menu that adapts perfectly to event catering, and their all-inclusive wedding packages take care of many onsite details, including table linens and décor.
For a casual wedding dinner or super-chill, bare feet-in-the-sand Tamarindo wedding ceremony, look no further than the beachfront restaurant Latitude Blue (formerly Nibbana).
A local mainstay with a superb menu – think: ultra-fresh tuna tartare, caprese salad, and grilled mahi-mahi – Latitude Blue offers a sweet sunset spot, relaxed vibe, and friendly staff to cater a very casual, yet unforgettable wedding night meal.
Langosta Beach Club
A spectacular setting, soft sands, and delicious menus combine to make Langosta Beach Club a popular locale among Tamarindo wedding venues.
This is one of our top choices, when you’re looking for a beautiful setting, professional staff, and off-the-beaten-path location (the Beach Club is located a bit south of Tamarindo, in Playa Langosta). Plus, the sunsets can’t be beat.
