Stay in Tamarindo Terms and Conditions
Travel is one of life’s great joys… even the most carefully planned trip can be complicated by unforeseen events. Whether it’s lost luggage, canceled flights, or a medical emergency,an unexpected mishap can turn your trip into a taxing experience. We offer you travel insurance designed to protect your purchase. You can purchase travel insurance directly through us while booking or 30 days or more before check-in, depending on the desired insurance plan. Our goal is to give you a way to protect your money, safeguard your journey, and make your stay memorable for all of the right reasons. We encourage you to ensure your travel investment to achieve a peaceful and worry-free vacation. Please protect your investment and your peace of mind.
A 50% deposit must be received upon the time of reservation, the remaining balance needs to be paid 60 days before your arrival. (If the reservation is booked within 60 days before check-in, the transfer should be made in full).
Please note that prior to check-in, it is necessary to provide a signed credit card voucher and rental contract.The rental security deposit must be submitted 15 days before your scheduled arrival. This deposit will be refunded to the same credit card it was charged from, provided that there are no damages or missing items. In the event that any items are broken, missing, or if any house rules were violated, the corresponding value of these items will be deducted from the security deposit. The credit card voucher will authorize a specific amount to be held on your credit card throughout your stay, which will be released after check-out, excluding any applicable incidentals. The specific hold amount may vary depending on the property, typically ranging between $500, $1000, or $2000. If a security deposit was already collected for the reservation,a hold will not be placed on your credit card.
All credit card transactions are processed through Vacation Rental Payment (Yapstone). Since all of our transactions are processed remotely, and for your own protection, verification of the credit card holder is required. For all credit card transactions (credit card payment, security deposit, damage voucher) it is required to provide a selfie and a photo of a valid form of identification document of the credit card holder (Examples: Driver's license, passport). The identity verification process is managed by our partner Autohost. In rare cases, our payment processor requires an additional verification step if the transaction is considered of "high risk". This may involve a selfie picture from the guest showing the ID or in person verification at our office right before check-in. Transaction security is of outmost importance for us as well as protection of data.

Check-in time is between 3 and 10 pm.
Check-out time is 10 am.
If you would like to request a late check-out, please confirm with the Stay in Tamarindo staff ahead of time to ensure we don’t have any one-day turnovers.
We understand the need for increased flexibility in travel planning right now. To help our valued guests, we offer the following special policy for our Costa Rica vacation rentals & services.
Please note that cancellations made 31 days or more, prior to arrival will receive a refund equivalent to 80% of their payment. Cancellations within 30 days of arrival are non-refundable unless the dates can be re-rented for the same amount as the original reservation.
The cancellation policy does not apply to holiday dates as they are non-refundable. Please refer to the paragraph “Holiday Dates"

For these reasons, we encourage our clients to ensure their travel investment to achieve a peaceful and worry-free vacation. Please protect your investment and your peace of mind.
OCCUPANTS & VISITORS
With the exception of guests registered in the original booking number, outside visitors not pre-approved with Stay in Tamarindo are not allowed at any time inside the premises.
We are a strictly non-smoking rental. We ask that you not smoke in the house at all. If evidence of smoking, such as the smell of cigarettes inside the home and/or cigarette burns on the furniture, is noticed by the cleaning crew there will be a $500 damage assessment.
We offer a selection of homes that are pet-friendly. Feel free to inquire with our reservations agents about pet-friendly homes. Please note that there is an extra charge for bringing pets to any of our properties.
VOLUME & NOISE CONTROL
Our properties are part of beautiful residential neighborhoods where other residents are mutually respectful of each other’s privacy. We ask that you please refrain from having raucous late-night parties and especially from playing loud music or making excessive noise after 10 pm. or before 8 am.
We ask that the occupants take full responsibility for securing their personal belongings. Please lock your valuables whenever leaving the house. Stay in Tamarindo is not responsible for any lost or damaged personal items.
AC, ELECTRICITY & WATER
Stay in Tamarindo is an ecologically minded business, we ask that you obey the following guidelines in regards to conserving energy: When using the air-conditioning units, please remember to turn them off when not in use and keep usage to a minimum. Also, please turn off all lights when you leave any room.
