Villa Encantada

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The house is huge and meticulously maintained. I was there with 16 of my close friends and everything was seamlessly carried out from check in, shuttles, food, and golf cart drop off. The chef, Didi, was phenomenal and easily made meals for my friends who have certain food restrictions. Our rooms were cleaned daily and fresh beach/pool towels were given daily. We are sad to be leaving this beautiful resort and country. Pura Vida.

Our stay at Villa Tranquila was amazing! We stayed here with a 25 person wedding party. Elsa was so helpful with scheduling everything for everyone before our stay. Which helped the wedding weekend run smooth! During our stay Eugene and his team were absolutely amazing. They helped with everything we needed for the entire stay. Our Chef was also awesome! He even cooked our food for our welcome party for 50 people! Food was delicious. I cannot say enough good things about this property and the team that runs it. It was a huge part of the most perfect wedding weekend with the most special people!

We had a family reunion for my mom's 85th birthday here and were so grateful we found this location. Eugene and Sary were wonderful hosts and went above and beyond to make our stay easy and enjoyable. The Chef, Didier, is very warm and a wonderful cook as well - I would highly recommend staying in for all your meals. Eugene and his wife buy the groceries each day and Didier cooks and cleans - all you need to do is enjoy this beautiful location. Eugene is very responsive and was helpful with other items too - like sunscreen and birthday cake with a very cool Costa Rican candle. They even bought us champagne for the birthday dinner. Every detail is taken care of. The location is very quiet, with some fun iguanas, monkeys, and birds visiting. There's easy access to a private beach, bike rental place, beach club, and more. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back. This place was a total treat!

Look no further - this is the place to book! We planned our July 2023 Costa Rican family vacation in October of 2022. We decided on this property because of the previous reviews and because we were in need of a large house due to the number of people in our group. We were also interested in having a chef during our stay so that we didn’t have to worry about cooking, doing the dishes and shopping for groceries, and we also wanted to enjoy Costa Rican food. This property, the concierge, the house manager, and the chef did not disappoint. The property is absolutely gorgeous and very well maintained! The eight bedroom/bathroom suites were spacious and the balconies/patios were an added bonus. It is almost impossible to determine if one room is better than the other. They were all spectacular! The cleaning service attended to each room every morning. The pool deck is fantastic and the ceiling fans provide air movement that allow people to gather in that perfect space all day long. The salt water pool was cleaned each day around 6am. There is a volleyball net across the pool for your enjoyment. Some pool toys were provided, but we brought our own floats. There is a bluetooth speaker for the pool deck, which worked really well. Elsa was our concierge and she was incredibly helpful in planning our trip! She provided us with information on many different excursions and would contact each company when we had questions about timing, supplies, travel, etc. She helped us organize our daily itinerary and provided advice as to which excursions she felt would meet our needs. We had many changes to our schedule because of the number of people in our group and Elsa was always very gracious in dealing with those modifications. Our excursions included horseback riding, renting bikes, ziplining, ATV/UTV, Waterfall tour, Sloths and Frogs, Palo Verde tour and a trip into Tamarindo for shopping. We were very happy with each of these and definitely recommend them! Eugene was our house manager and he (and his wife) was so gracious to our family! He answered questions and helped us plan our meals and any foods that needed to be purchased from the stores. He communicated regularly with the chef in meal planning and provided assistance when we had questions about the safes located in each room or how to handle meals when many members of our group were away on excursions. He was available to us 24/7 if we needed him and he was always responsive. Eugene also provided us with the name of a driver that would take us from the property to the beach club for $5/person (The beach club is wonderful as well, providing another large pool and beach access). This was a service that we used several times and it was very helpful. One of the best features of this property was the chef. He was absolutely amazing! Not only was his food outstanding; he helped us make various tropical drinks and really catered to the dietary needs of our family. He ensured that we had fresh fruit, guacamole, and pico every day and he cleaned up after every meal. It was such a delight to have meals prepared for us with so many choices and they were always delicious! He even was kind enough to come back at 3 am the morning we left to make “to go” breakfast and lunch meals for us. For our meals, we chose modest options such as seafood alfredo and Costa rican chicken and rice, but for our last night we decided on steaks. Our cost was approximately $35/person per day. Overall this place was exceptional! This was a fantastic trip and this property helped make it so. We highly recommend this place specifically and Costa Rica in general. It is beautiful and not to be missed! Tips: We flew into San Jose because of the size of our group and the cost of the tickets. This meant there was a long 4-5 hour drive from the airport to the property. We suggest flying into Liberia to reduce that travel time. This was recommended to us as well, but regrettably, we chose to fly into San Jose. Remember to plan for tips for your excursion drivers and guides, concierge, house manager and chef. We generally gave a 20% cash tip for excursions and one rate for our hosts. If you are renting bikes, use the facility located across the road from the property. We didn’t use as many bikes as we anticipated. Purchase your alcohol at the duty free shop in the airport as this will save you substantial taxes.

My family and I came to Costa Rica for vacation and we had the best time. Everyone got to something they always wanted to do from surfing to white water rafting, to laying by the pool and sunbathing. Three generations stayed in the house and spent time together. The chef was on point every night! The staff was extremely accommodating and whatever we needed they made it happen. Stay in Tamarindo staff

We enjoyed our family vacation of 15 adults and 11 children at Villa Tranquila so so much! The villa itself is set up perfectly for families to enjoy the beautiful weather with plenty of shade to get the kids out of the sun. We rented 3 golf carts to take us to the Beach Club which is beautiful and is steps to the Pacific Ocean. We'd also go to the private beach for the sunsets and loved the space for the kids to run around and explore. Between the chef, the Villa, the beach club and the private beach, not to mention the Marriott where we would ride over to get ice cream, we all agreed it was the best family vacation so far!

We had a wonderful time at Villa Tranquila. Eugene and Sary were super helpful and always available by phone. Didier the chef was amazing! Each meal was delicious and he accommodated easily for our gluten free person. The outdoor space is great to hang out - plenty of shade if you want it. With each couple having their own suite, everyone had plenty of space. Pickle ball, tennis, bike rental and golf office just a quick walk away. Highly recommend Villa Tranquila

We were a group of 12 adults there to vacation and celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday. The entire experience was first class from beginning to end. The chef cooked our breakfasts and dinners for 7 nights. Everything was delicious and timely. Eugene and Sary ran around purchasing our alcohol and food. Elsa booked all of our shuttles and excursions. Anything we wanted we got. Friendly and attentive. The property was perfect for our group. The beach is a 30 minute walk. The JW is a nice place to walk to for a drink. You can rent bikes and ride around the grounds. It’s a wonderful place to spend your vacation. Tamarindo beach is about a 30 minute shuttle ride. We will return!

Wow! We just returned home from a magical week at Villa Tranquila in Hacienda Pinilla. I hosted a group of 18 for a yoga/pickleball/adventure/relaxation retreat. From the very start of the booking process to the departure flight out, we received top notch concierge and hospitality service from the Stay in Tamarindo staff. Elsa and Mariam answered every question (we had a lot of them!) ahead of and during our stay in a timely, courteous, and helpful manner. Eugene and Saray were incredibly friendly and helpful hosts at Villa Tranquila, checking in daily and supplementing the amenities with everything we needed. Chef Didier prepared fresh, delicious meals for us according to our menu requests and expertly catered to varying dietary restrictions among our guests. The meals were delicious and plentiful. All in all, our week at Villa Tranquila exceeded our expectations. We are so grateful for the luxurious week there.

This is a well laid out house that provides great space for entertaining but still being able to retreat to your own private suite. Our party of 15 had an amazing time at this home. Our cook Didier was fantastic and the house managers Eugene and Sary were available and helpful when needed. I highly recommend this house for large gatherings. The outdoor area and pool are perfect. They truly thought of everything.

Our stay at Villa Tranquila was incredible! Our group of 20 (ages 3 to 34) traveled all the way down from Alaska for 10 days. During our stay, my husband and I celebrated 15 yeas of marriage and had a vow renewal ceremony and reception right on the property. It was the perfect location for our intimate celebration, but could have easily accommodated a much larger event! Eugene, Sary, Elsa, and Alberto were marvelous at making sure our trip went seamless. Prior to arrival, Elsa made sure everything from airport pick-up/drop-off, day excursions, wedding coordinating, activities, etc. were lined up and taken care of, all through correspondence via e-mails and phone conversations. She is a rock star! Upon our very late evening arrival, Eugene and Sary greeted us with prepared appetizers knowing that we'd be hungry from our travels, wow! They gave us the run down of the house and made sure we were aware that they were available at anytime to address any questions or wants/needs throughout our stay which was incomparable to any experience we've ever had in customer service. They provided valuable insights to local attractions, activities, and etiquette. They were amazing! Alberto, the chef is an absolute gem and prepared the most delicious meals. He was personable, gracious, and hands down one of the hardest working people I have ever met! One of our kids loves to cook and he was so kind and patient as he let them help. It was one of many highlights of our trip! Thank you all so much for your hospitality and five star service. We will be talking about this trip for years to come and are already planning our next visit!

Everything is amazing at this house. This is a great set up for a large group. Our dinners were fantastic every night. Let the staff buy your food supplies and create your meals. This is a short drive into Tamarindo but not too far. We would definitely come back.

Eugene and Sary are incredible hosts.! Every one of the 8 bedrooms in this giant house has a sitting room with a sofa bed, giant bathrooms, and a nice porch or balcony. The house pool is lovely, even nicer than the photos show. The house has daily housekeeping AND a wonderful cook for 3 meals a day included in the cost of the house. The gated community (not as pretentious as it sounds) is thousands of acres with tons of trails, birds, monkeys, reptiles, bugs, and cows that think fencing is a suggestion. Speaking of bugs - shut off the outside lights at night for the best experience with few bugs. There are adorable web-fingered geckos on the house at night. Also, a golf course, a beach club w/restaurant, and a gym $10 day for all it credits your tab for food or beverage. Our 11 adults all give the place a 10 of 10. We ARE going back to this huge house! It is about 30 miles from the airport (LIR), but the drive is 80-90 minutes. Renting a car is best for flexibility. It's an easy rise except for one road towards the end of the trip that has craters – it's entertaining!

The house is amazing and lends itself to big groups, no fighting over rooms, all rooms are either two queens or two kings. Great pool and great location. This house is not inside any of the smaller communities in Pinilla which makes access very convenient.

This house is awesome! Every room has it’s own full bathroom & sitting area! The rooms are large & very comfortable. The kitchen is great for large groups! Chefs take great care of you for every meal. We got to pick our menus at the beginning of the week. Eugene & Sary are amazing hosts! I recommend this house highly.

However with access to two beautiful beaches and the beach club inside the gated 4000 acres you really don't need to go to town. Where the Villa really sets the bar high is the service. Our cooks and cleaners worked hard and were fun to be around. Excellent meals during the whole 10 day stay. Eugene & Sary were the point people for the Villa and were super diligent in taking excellent care of us. From birthday cakes to transportation they were always on top of things. The entire stay was a pleasure from start to finish. I highly recommend Villa Tranquila.

We had a great stay! Everyone was happy with the house that had plenty of space for 18 of us. Kids loved the pool and beach club as well as private beach. Eugene and his wife were excellent house managers and very helpful. 2 ladies cooking the whole week were great and it was so convenient to have them do our meals which were delicious! Phenomenal time! We brought friends and family to Villa Tranquila, hoping for several days of relaxing times at the pool with some trips to the beach and local activities. Really could not have asked for a better stay. The folks from Stay in Tamarindo were very helpful and accomodating. We were able to set up van rentals for our arrival, helped us with a few adventure trips during our stay, and just generally made sure everything was going well. Mariam was especially helpful. Eugene, Sary, and the rest of the kind people at Villa Tranquila went above and beyond to make this a memorable visit. There were very few issues, but if anything came up, Eugene and Sary were available to help right away. Can't say enough how much we enjoyed our time at Villa Tranquila. The food was wonderful each and every day, the house was beautiful and clean throughout, and the kids had a lot of fun with the iguanas in the area. The complex itself feels very safe, and the beaches are wonderful. All in all, a dream vacation.

Our group of 15 had a wonderful stay, this past June, at Villa Tranquila. The pool area is relaxing but the private beach is a must. The waves were perfect for jumping and the sunset was magnificent every evening. The property managers go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. I recommend taking advantage of the grocery service ahead of time. You'll save time and money. I also recommend renting a couple of golf carts to get around the community. The meals that were prepared for us during our stay were amazing. The common areas of the home are great for visiting, playing cards, dancing, eating, etc. Each suite has its own balcony or patio, which is a beautiful touch. (Just make sure you unlock the door before going out! ;-) We loved the fact that we were close enough to the city to enjoy some shopping, but had the luxury of going back to our private retreat without any neighbors to disturb. Before our 4 night stay at Villa Tranquila, we stayed 4 nights near the Arenal Volcano. Both areas of Costa Rica are beautiful, but in very different ways. We wanted to give our family a taste of both. At this point, I believe, everyone is looking forward to returning. :-)

They went out of their way to make sure our stay was great. We had a family wedding and they helped navigate our event including flowers, cake, food suggestions and more. The food that was prepared for us was delicious. Cooks made local Costa Rican cuisine. All of our guests raved about the food. The cost of food was more affordable than expected. The house accommodated our 23 guests easily and we had room for more. It was at a good location, access to a great beach, golf course, mountain biking and lots more. We took a fishing charter and our cooks prepared the fish we caught. We plan to come again.

Our family of 24 (ages 2 to 63) had the most amazing experience staying at Villa Tranquila. Eugene gave us ideas of what activities to do. We spent time at the Beach Club, Hacienda Pinilla's private beach -which was our favorite, Playa Conchel where some of us went out on Wave Runners, and one day was spent at Ponderosa Adventure Park. We had 8 children under the age of 10 and Ponderosa Adventure Park was geared to their level of activity, but was also geared to this 63 old who had never been zip-lining before and was very skeptical. Eugene and Sari were extremely helpful. Our daughter was ill before arriving in Costa Rica and the day after we arrived felt like she was worse, we called Eugene and he took her to a near by medical clinic. Staff members Kimberly and Anna were also great to work with and helped make our stay at Villa Tranquila most enjoyable. We had 5 - 5 years olds on the trip and all of them said we don't want to go home. Upon returning one of the 5 year old said to his mom - "I don't want to go to LegoLand, I want to go back to Costa Rica". That is how we all felt- Truly Awesome experience.

This was our 2nd time at the Hacienda Panialla which we chose because of the golf and beach club. The house did not disappoint! It was a pleasant surprise to arrive on the 23rd and see the updates that Eugene and Sari had done to the house. It was freshly painted and the brand new linens and towels were a treat!! The house was perfect for our family of 12. We all had our own space when it was needed! Eugene and Sari were wonderful. They were available to answer any questions we had during our 2 week stay and even arranged to have people come to the house for massages. Everyone loved that!! My mom was struggling to get into the beds at night and when my dad mentioned that to Eugene...he showed up the very next day with stools for all of the bedrooms. It was really nice to have housekeeping every day. She did a wonderful job and stayed out of everyone's way. The house is 2 minutes away from the club house so it made it very easy to access the golf course. It is a little secluded, but not such a bad thing when you want some peace and quiet!! The pool was beautiful. It helped that we backed onto the 18th hole and the landscape is amazing at the back of the house!! The house also has access to a private beach. The kids loved that beach!! Along with the house we had access to the Beach Club. We spent about 3 days there. It was nice because it had a restaurant so we could grab a quick lunch if needed. It cost $10/day/person but they deduct that cost from any food or bar tab you run up. We used several chefs during our stay. Pascal and Camille (Pascam Private Chef) and Chef Frank from Belly Fedbetter were amazing. They took care of everything for us each night they were there. The food was amazing!!! Overall, the house exceeded our expectations. Everyone had a fantastic time! It was tough to leave such a beautiful place!!

I would recommend this villa for any one looking for a safe and scenic place to go for vacation. We were able to do zip-lining, an ATV tour, a Palo Verde rain-forest tour, horseback riding, massages and a animal safari which the kids loved. Since we were located on the 18th hole it was only fitting that we gold as well. Cristina helped me plan and arrange everything which made the trip so easy for us and she even arranged for a vehicle to be delivered to the villa to get around. Eugene was excellent the entire trip, he made sure we had everything we needed and even took us on a tour of the property so we knew where everything was located. We had the entire week catered by Gusto Tamarindo, Francesco and his team were amazing. The food was excellent and all made with all fresh local ingredients. We cannot wait to return to Villa Tranquila.

Eugene and Sary are such amazing hosts. They are so kind and professional. They helped us with every detail of our vacation. The property was unreal! The pictures don't do it justice. It was fantastic in every way possible. The private beach was by far our favorite part of the experience. The wild life around the house was amazing. The week in itself was the best week ever, but having our home base be Villa Tranquila really made the week complete! Stay in Tamarindo was so great to work with, extremely responsive and helpful. The house manager, Eugene, & his lovely wife were INCREDIBLE. We all felt SO comfortable knowing they were just a phone call away if we needed anything at all. One night he even drove some of my girlfriends that wanted to go into town for dinner down to Tamarindo so that they wouldn't have to call a cab! The cleaning service did an outstanding job as we came home to a spotless house every day. There is filtered water throughout the house & 2 huge ice chests which was nice since we didn't have to buy bottled water or ice. The fridge was big enough to fit our 500+ beers & other necessities :) We can't wait to do a reunion and come back to stay at Villa Tranquila!

My family and I were immensely blown away by the magnitude of this Villa! Decadent in appearance and in service! Eugene and Sary offered stellar services ranging from house keeping to general maintenance. The 2 in tandem offered a 5 Star service that was above and beyond the call of duty on their part! The staff on hand were equally awesome because the staff kept the villa clean, comfortable and relaxing! The Villa offered spacious rooms that totally made us feel like home! And the pool in the rear of the Villa coupled with the breathtaking views that envelop the Villa , felt like pure magic! Would my family and I come back to Villa Tranquila? Hell yea to the yes! Thank you, Villa Tranquila, for one of the most amazing times I ever had the chance to experience in my measly life! While Costa Rica has many lovely accommodations for tourists, none can offer the excellent management, and service, provided by Eugene , the general manager of Villa Tranquila. Eugene is a remarkable concierge , but he was so much more. He and his wife, Suni, Were invaluable resources of information, transportation, and advice. They welcomed us in a way that made us feel like we were old friends. The Villa is in a lovely area , on the 18th hole of a golf course. It is nestled in a secure area, and close enough to enjoy all of the activities restaurants, and attractions of the Guanacaste region. Tamarindo is minutes away. Groceries are available there, but if relaxing and pampering is what you wish, catering is recommended. We opted for a prepared meal on our last evening, and were completely satisfied with the quality and quantity of the Costa Rican food. Took my family on vacation to Costa Rica and stayed at this house. It was the best vacation we have had as a family and we have been to many places. The accommodations were excellent. The property manager was very helpful and each day gave us ideas of places to go and sights and tours to take. He also help arrange several of the tours for us. Some of them come and pick you up right at the house. The house is fully loaded with everything you would want. Smart TV's in all the suites, 2 common areas for gathering as a family and then the pool area. The house backs up to the 18th hole of the golf course and is very quiet. We will definitely stay here again and I would HIGHLY recommend staying here. This is my 2nd time staying at the house. I stayed here on a business trip before and that's why I wanted my family to experience this.

The greatest comment resides in our eagerness to book again for another excursion in Costa Rica. We had an amazing time. Five stars for the accommodations and five stars for the level of service. My wife planned her brother’s destination wedding in Costa Rica and this house was the venue. As great as an ocean/beach wedding would be, the house was better as the backdrop and also served us well for the entire week. Roughly twenty people stayed there comfortably with guests arriving and leaving at different times. The house has private suites within and was very roomy. The place was clean and well maintained. It was located minutes from the beach that is tucked away from all the public crowds as found in Tamarindo. The house is also closely situation to the JW Marriott which provides some excellent dining options for eating out. Wifi was reliable and located in every room and never had a problem connecting. It was perfect even down to the small family of harmless iguanas that lived in the landscaped portion of the property. As great as the accommodations were, something needs to be said for the personal service that Eugene and Mariela provided. Hosting a wedding, we had several unique requests that we required assistance with. The wedding, the entire week and the lack of issues are a credit to their assistance. The wedding and the days leading up and afterwards were all made possible because of their hard efforts to accommodate us and our special needs. Eugene and Mariela went above and beyond and were completely professional and pleasant to work with. We cannot thank them enough. We now look forward to scheduling the next family and friends trip to Costa Rica without any hesitation on where we plan to stay.

We were skeptical being "off" the beach and out of town but it ended up being perfect because we had everything to ourselves. We had 8 couples so each had their own suite and never got in each other's way. We decided to rent golf carts instead of cars and it was definitely the right choice. They were perfect for some people hitting the beach club or cruising down to Playa Lagosta which was completely private and gorgeous. The Beach Club is a great stop and we basically had that place to ourselves as well. Great food and drinks there. We booked a private chef for a few meals and it was amazing. The Stay in Tamarindo crew and our host were all great. We will definitely be going back and probably won't change a thing.

Villa Tranquila was the destination for our family reunion that included 17 people. The 3 acre Villa located right on the golf course fairway was perfect. Everyone was very pleased with the beautiful property and accommodations. The 8 spacious and comfortable bedrooms included their own bathroom, sitting room, beach towels, bathrobes and mini-refrigerator. All the rooms in the house were cleaned daily, including the pool and the BBQ grill - wonderful. Our hats off to Eugene, the property manager, and Sary for taking such good care of us. They helped with grocery shopping the first day and made several suggestions on things to do in the area. We especially liked going to the National Park which included horseback riding, tubing down a river, a zipline through the canyon and mud painting at the hot springs - quite an adventure! Lunch was also include. A short drive from the villa, is an amazing private beach with shade, beach chairs and gorgeous water. There are tide pools to explore and a bay with sand and surf and plenty of sea shells. It truly is a beautiful beach, especially at sunset. The property also comes with 4 bikes that you can ride for miles on the golf cart paths. There are so many things to do and we took advantage of as many as possible in order to make our vacation truly memorable. From the moment we arrived at Villa Tranquila everything exceeded our expectations. I was nervous as I had made all the travel plans for our three families to stay for a week but I was the hero all week long for finding this amazing home. There were 17 of us and there was plenty of space for us all with beds to spare. The home itself was beautiful, spacious and clean. It had all the modern amenities including wifi, satellite TV with Netflix, 3 large refrigerators, etc. and double filtered water that didn't cause any problems for us American travelers. The daily maid service with Mariela was a bonus that you don't find in most vacation rentals and she was great. The grounds and pool were very well maintained and made us feel like we were at our own private resort. Everyone loved seeing iguanas roaming around the driveway and monkeys in the trees across the street in the evenings. We felt close enough to everything that it was no big deal to get around, but the privacy and seclusion of this location definitely lives up to its name of Villa Tranquila. We rented golf carts for the week and the kids loved the freedom of heading to the private beach or exploring the golf course grounds whenever they wanted. When they say private beach, that is no exaggeration. I don't know if this is always the case, but we had the beach to ourselves for as far as we could see every time we went throughout the week. And the beach was beautiful with tropical trees lining the soft sand, great waves for the kids to play in and very comfortable water temperature. The property manager Eugene and his wife Sary went above and beyond to make every aspect of our stay worry free and they helped create the best memories possible. Every recommendation they made was spot on. Eugene has many contacts and could make suggestions and arrange deals for any adventure or activity we came up with. It was like visiting friends and having them hook us up with the places the locals know best. We loved the afternoon Catamaran cruise, and the full day volcano adventure at Buena Vista and other adventures. I would recommend not planning too much though as it would be a shame to leave this paradise every day and not fully enjoy all the property has to offer. We would definitely recommend this home to anyone and hope to be able to return here someday ourselves.

We rented Villa Tranquila for two weeks in June and had the most amazing time. There were 23 of us and Villa Tranquila absorbed the numbers effortlessly. The location is safe, convenient to town, yet far enough away that is maintains the resort element you hope for on a vacation. I personally would not have wanted to stay closer to Tamarindo. There are no neighbors so kids splashing in the pool can make all the noise they want. It was wonderful to have daily maid service and someone to help with meals. It cannot be emphasized enough how helpful Eugene and his beautiful wife Sary are. They are the most lovely people and made sure every aspect of our vacation was as nice as it could be. Twice we needed some medical attention and Eugene ran us to the clinic right on the property at Hacienda Pinilla. There was never a complaint about doing something above and beyond what might be expected! Truly amazing!! Don't worry about not being right on the beach. It was not a big deal in the slightest. Most of the time we wanted to move between multiple beaches a day. The surfing beach is 5 minutes in one direction and the private beach, five minutes in the other. Some of the things we loved were surfing, snorkeling at Conchal or in front of the Marriott, golf, tennis, ATV riding and the whole day adventure at the volcano that Eugene recommended. Make sure to arrive to the volcano before 9am and reservations are recommended. If you just want R&R, lay at the pool or go to the private beach. By the way, while we were there, all the beaches were essentially deserted and we had miles of beach to ourselves. The water was perfect temperature too!

It has 8 very large bedrooms each with a large sitting area, and very large bathroom, and some kind of patio or balcony to enjoy the outside. Guest robes, beach towels, mini fridges and microwaves? were provided in each room as well. Each of the rooms in the house have a hotel type lock on it which can be good, but also a bit of a nuisance. Magnetic keys had to be with you at all times. The kitchen has 3 large tables and ample fridge and freezer area for food. The actual kitchen prep area is a little small and cramped for the number of people staying there, but we were told that there are plans to update the kitchen in the future. The pool is beautiful and there are a number of pool blow ups to use. There is a patio with a BBQ and fans to keep you cool. There is no fence around the pool, so we had to watch the small children very carefully. There are also boogie boards to use at the ocean. Each day we had someone that came and freshened up the bedrooms and the pool was cleaned each morning. We had access to a private beach that was beautiful and very secluded. There are lounge chairs and tables with umbrella's at the beach. We also enjoyed and used the beach club at Hacienda Pinilla. The pool is large and right above the beach. The food at the restaurant was very good The location is about 15 minutes from Tamerindo. There is some zip lining close by, but the main attractions for the volcano and adventure parks are 2+ hours away. It's doable but makes for a very long day. However, you are right where the main ocean surfing area is. The house manager was very helpful and did a great job of providing service when we need to find a medical clinic. We had a great time at this home. It is in a gated and in a very safe area, and the home is very secluded. It is on a golf course, but we rarely saw anyone golfing.

Second stay at Villa Tranquila We just returned for our second week at Villa Tranquila. We enjoyed another fantastic week. The villa is such a special place for a family vacation. It is so large, clean and has everything you could want during your stay, from the large pool to the fast internet and smart TVs to watch Netflix in your suites. One of the children said this house has everything and he is right. There is so much to do in the area that you couldn’t do and see it all in a month or more. The beach is just 4 minutes away. There is so many different activities in the area. We were able to ride horses, go 4 wheeling, zip lining, snorkeling, tubing and rent a catamaran for a wonderful half day cruise. The mountains are about a one hours drive away with all they have to offer. The people are all so friendly and accommodating. The staff at the villa are the best and want to see you have the most fantastic stay you could have in Costa Rica. We have stayed at other villas in several countries and I can tell you Villa Tranquila is the best villa we have stayed in. I give it the highest recommendation I can give. If you want an unbelievable fantastic vacation stay at Villa Tranquila and enjoy all Costa Rica has to offer. With all the new airlines flying into Liberia the airfare prices are dropping at a rapid rate. This makes travel to and from Costa Rica very affordable. I can’t wait to be back.

Had a wonderful stay here last month. The house is everything that the others say: large, air conditioned rooms and common areas; wifi and Netflix throughout the house; a very clean grounds and pool; a happy chef to make our stay even better; Gene and Sary providing great advice for day trips and tips on the country and region; incredible beaches within five minute drives; sunsets and sunrises that were second to none; bugs that seemed to only thrive on Gene and I!; iguanas everywhere, howler monkeys nearby; incredible privacy; showers were weak, but CR was in the middle of a drought; clean! A fantastic week for a multi-family stay over Easter. Can't wait to be back! Would recommend four days here then inland for four days. Driving is mediocre at best on pothole-filled roads. Land in Liberia and depart from San Jose.

All I can say is don't think twice and book it. This home and staff are absolutely phenomenal. Some of the highlights: Eugene - He is the house manager and may the stay perfect. From baking us brownies, to showing up at 5am when our airport shuttle didn't show, he is an absolute gentleman. It was though he did everything out of the kindness of his heart and not for business or financial reasons. He is a true gem and made our 8 night stay with 16 people perfect. House - Very large, clean with great amenities. Pool was perfect Martiella - she is the staff cleaning/cooking person. A wonderful person, kind and caring and responsive to every wish that we had. Beach Club - Very convenient, great infinity pool and tremendous surfing and boogie boarding at the beach. We have travelled all over the world and this home, ranks at the top of the list.

I've stayed at many places in Costa Rica but this was hands down my best overall experience. Villa Tranquila does all of the pictures justice and then some. It really is as impressive, luxurious, and stately as it looks in the listings. Something I wasn't aware of heading into our stay that was a huge plus: all of the 8 suites are completely private with their own hotel-style key card. It's like having your own personal mansion combined with the individual privacy of a hotel. I've never been anywhere else like it and it made the whole experience extremely enjoyable. Another big reason why my group's trip was such a success came down to Villa Tranquila's manager: Eugene. I can't say enough good things about his attention to detail and desire to make everything perfect for us. This was a huge relief for me because I was hosting a high end tennis clinic for a small group of students and you never really know what level of service you're going to get at a private place like this. Eugene put me at ease immediately, I could tell that he desired nothing more than for my week to be as successful as possible, and he frequently took action to show me he was serious about that. Letting us check in early, helping us book extra nights at the end of our trip, arranging for transportation when our original provider fell through, and many other small things as well. It felt like Eugene was on our team and wanted my guests to be just as happy as I did which was greatly appreciated. Lastly, everything was clean, well maintained, and very well taken care of. Daily housekeeping and cleaning service made a huge difference, as did daily cleaning of the pool. This combined with a private beach minutes away, Tamarindo minutes away, and the Beach Club minutes away make Villla Tranquila an incredible spot. In short, our entire experience was top notch and I look forward to booking this property again. I can't recommend it highly enough, you will not be disappointed!

We spent a week at Villa Tranquila and it was outstanding. The facility was impeccably clean and well maintained in every way. The villa was centrally located to everything inside Hacienda Pinilla. You could walk to the golf club house and tennis courts in less than 3 minutes and the private beach and beach club were just a short drive away. The suites are very large and well designed with everything you need when you want your private space. They each have a safe, mini fridge, 40” smart TV, coffee makers, comfortable king or queen beds, hide-a-bed couches, their own sitting room, patio and central air conditioning so you have total control of your environment. The bathrooms are very large with insta-hot water heaters giving you all the hot water you desire when you want it. The maid service was excellent. Not only was the space very clean when we arrived but it was kept that way the entire week. The central living areas were very large, clean and stocked with everything you need during your stay. The grounds and pool are very well maintained. Fast internet, Wifi was available everywhere inside the house and even out by the pool when you were sitting in the lounge chairs. The two music systems give us all the music both inside and outside the house that we could ever want. The country of Costa Rica is unbelievable with such friendly people and so much to do that you couldn’t see and do it all in a month let alone a week. The group had a blast with the various tours and events available to us. We even attended a local celebration with bull riding and excellent food. We could not have picked a better place for our vacation. Both everything about the villa and the country it is located in represents the best of the best. I highly recommend Villa Tranquila as the place in paradise that will provide you with the most fantastic vacation that you will never forget. We did not want to leave at the end of the week but duty called us back to the states. We will definitely return to Costa Rica and Villa Tranquila in the future.

Villa Tranquila is exactly that -- a place to go for total tranquility! My group of 16 was easily and comfortably accommodated in this spacious and modern villa. Eugene, the property manager bent over backwards for us on numerous occasions, and always with a smile! This is a perfect location for a large group, with plenty of opportunities for group activities as well as ways to be alone and read (or whatever) if that's what you want. The house was clean and well-appointed, with a great private pool in the back. The beach is close by, which was nice. We were able to bring a cook in for a few nights, which was lovely; and we cooked quite a bit on our own as well. Everything you need to prepare and serve is right there. Home away from home, quite literally. I highly recommend Villa Tranquila!

To begin with, this Villa itself is amazing. Since we first saw it, my (now) husband and I thought this would be a great place to have our wedding reception. Plus, since we had an entourage of foreign friends, they could stay with us a few days before so we could spend time with them. And what a week! We had been planning our wedding reception a few months before, and Eugene, the property manager, was so helpful and always suggesting ideas for us. He even let us visit the villa a couple of times before to check out the property and take some measurements for the wedding reception details. Finally the week arrived, when we got there everything was impecable, from the kitchens to the bathrooms. The rooms were all set for the guests, and it was just time to chill before the big day. The property is so PRIVATE that there are no near neighbors around, so on Friday we had a BBQ (Yes, the Villa is equipped with a huge griller) with our closest family and friends with great music (there's a Bluetooth audio equipment too). For our wedding day, all the providers were setting things up since very early, which i cannot stop thanking the manager and his wife for taking their time to supervise and make sure we had everything we needed. And the final setup turned out to be magical. The guests came, and were amazed by the size of the Villa and how beautiful it was. At night, as a just married couple, we walked down the stairs and everybody were gathered around the pool. There was a group playing, we had an awesome reception, and everything turned out to be perfect. We recommend this Villa for big families or groups of friends that would like to gather up for a holiday. Although the rooms are in separate wings (which gives them more privacy), the social areas are great to hang around and enjoy a great time in an amazing destination Hacienda Pinilla is.

You will never want to leave, Spectacular!!! WOW, what a week. Costa Rica is a beautiful safe country, friendly people, great health care available if you needed it and so many activities available that you could not fit them all in a month let alone a week. Hacienda Panilla where villa Tranquila is located is a 4600 acre gated area with security guards at every entrance and miles of roads, nature trails, beaches, horse stables, tennis courts, gyms, restaurants, a beautiful 18 hole PGA level golf course, and all kinds of birds, monkeys and so many other type animals to mention. You are also very close to Tamarindo where you find shopping, more restaurants and surf shops everywhere. The area is the surf capital of the world. The waves are unbelievable and the water is clear and perfect. Villa Tranquila is an amazing villa. It is the largest Villa in the area with over 13,000 square feet of living space, Very large rooms throughout. The kitchen dining area is very large with seating space easily for up to 30 people or more. The kitchen area has everything you need for cooking with plenty of refrigerator and freezer space. You can hire a cook to cook your meals at a very reasonable price if you prefer. It also has a large screen smart TV with hundreds of channels and Netflix if you want. The villa has a 15 Meg internet feed with 5 wireless routers. You have a strong wireless signal wherever you go. The 8 suites are very large with their own siting rooms and patios. It is your own private area when you want it. The bathrooms are large with insta-hots and plenty of hot water. Each suite has its own central air system so you completely control the tempter inside your suite. The central rooms also have their own central air systems. The living room features a second large screen smart TV, DVD player, music stereo system that plays through speakers in the living room and kitchen and beautiful bar stocked with every kind of glass you may need and a commercial ice maker. It also has a large patio area with an unbelievable view. The laundry is big and available for your use at any time. The swimming pool is large and warm. The patio area off the kitchen is covered with very good lighting, a large gas grill and tables and chairs if you want to sit outside and just relax. There is a second music stereo system that you can also use in the patio area. You can play the loudest music all night long because there are not any neighbors. The location is great!

You know how you book a place online and when you get there its really nice but not as nice as the pictures made it out to be ? Well this was absolutely not the situation with Villa Tranquilla at Hacienda Pinilla. From the moment we arrived we were blown away by how incredible this house was. ! When we arrived we pulled up to a amazing entrance with beautiful palm trees , perfectly manicured land scanning and breath taking spanish villa that had an incredible double stair case that rivaled something from Gone With The Wind or the Lake Cuomo scene from Oceans 12. The house was remarkably clean and we couldn't believe the rooms also. Besides the spacious common area each bedroom had a beautiful sitting area with view of the pool. The pool was incredible ! Large and very beautiful with plenty of space to hang out pool side. Eugene the manager was fantastic ! He was incredibly warm and welcoming. He made us feel right at home and from the on set he made it clear to us that he was here to take care of us and wanted our stay to be incredible. He was always available! One time we called him for something and he appeared instantaneously. One of my friends jokingly asked him if he was staying on the roof . All in all I can't recommend this place enough if you are staying in the Tamarindo area. Our stay there was literally perfect !! I would go back in a heart beat ! I look forward to staying there sometime again in the future

We recently visited Costa Rica and stayed at Villa Tranquila, in Hacienda Pinnilla. This was an amazing trip for us. We travelled with a total of 13 people, 5 of which were children. The youngest was 4 years of age. The home is spectacular! Eugene, our house manager is fabulous. He had toys for the kids to play with, air mattresses etc to maximize the time at the pool. We spent a lot of time in the pool enjoying the gardens and listening to the howler monkeys as they made their presence known in the surrounding area. The pool is massive and is kept clean and sparkling for our enjoyment. Everyone had a fabulous time. The rooms are so spacious and the house is beyond clean. The care and attention that goes into the home is wonderful. There are laundry facilities there for us to use as well, which came in handy with children in tow. The kitchen is a chef’s dream, with plenty of storage, 2 fridges and seating for about 20. Every detail has been thought about. You will want to have some mode of transportation though, be it, golf cart or rent a car. As Tamarindo is about 15 minutes away by car. The private beach was not within walking distance and the Beach Club is a little drive away as well. Eugene was very accommodating with our large group and shuttled a few of us around throughout our vacation. We certainly enjoyed his company and had him attend a few dinners we had as well. Eugene arranged for a catered meal for us, as well as a house-mother who cooked us an authentic Costa Rican meal. It was delicious. The Beach Club is a beautiful facility at Haciendea Pinnilla. It comes equipped with an infinity pool, full service bars and a restaurant. It is well worth spending the day there, as it is right on the beach. All in all, this was by far one of our most favourite trips and Eugene and his staff at Villa Tranquila made it even that much more enjoyable. We would recommend this home for anyone looking for a great getaway. Wonderful for small children.

We had an amazing family vacation for 3 different generations, at Villa Tranquilla. The house was great and the staff was amazing. Things to know: Staff: house manager (Eugene), housekeeper, pool and gardens maintainece worker. They were all excellent. Any issue with the house, Eugene had it solved immediately. We had a semi-serious health issue and he and his partner drove 2 family members to a clinic in Tamarindo and stayed with them for 3 hours helping with translations and questions for the doctors. Amazing. House - All suites with some rooms large enough to sleep up to 5. Access to the whole house is open so you need key cards to get around. This is a bit cumbersome but recommended for security reasons. The pool is spectacular and the gardens are beautiful. Lots of wildlife around including howler monkeys in the trees and huge iguanas that live on the property The kitchen is full equipped with two large refrigerators and a dishwasher. The bar (complete with ice machine)/rec room upstairs with the balcony facing the golf course and the beach in the distance was a great place to hang out. We spent most of our time outside around the well equipped pool area (there is an very good, new BBQ too). Logistics - You absolutely need transportation cars for getting to town (the SuperMercado is about 5km away) or around the Hacienda Pinilla property. We rented golf carts and I swear this was the highlight of the trip for the kids...and adults. My favorite thing was getting up early in the morning with the kids, jumping on a golf cart and looking for animals including the herd of cows and horses on the property or heading down to the beautiful and secluded, Playa Langosta to play on the beach as the sun was coming up. Beaches and Pool - The beaches and beach club (with pool and playground) are not really within walking distance which is why the golf carts were perfect. They are gorgeous. The beach club has full bar and restaurant with good food. The infinity pool is great for kids and adults and the beach there is tops. My nephew is a surfer and he had an awesome time. Surf lessons are offered here too. Play Langosta was even more spectacular. We would go most nights for the sunset and swimming. Magical. Suggestions - Definitely rent golf carts. If you don't want to cook and don't want to go out every night, I highly recommend calling Tamarindo Catering. They provided us with cooks/meals at the house. Delicious!

I was looking for a house to host all of my family and close friends within a private environment yet spacious and comfortable for all of them. If this rings a bell for you, look no more. You found it! Villa Tranquila is beautiful from any angle. My family, friends and I had an amazing time. We enjoyed the open space within the living room and kitchen (it is BIG!), pool area, gardens around the back and front yard and the 8 bedrooms. There is no much you can ask (or not get) from bedrooms with living rooms, balcony and complete bathroom in all of them. The house is equipped with any item you could possibly need, which means you just need to worry of getting there, get everyone a bed, get enough food to stuff the pantry area, drinks to fill the refrigerators and you are all set. Any other thing you may need, please make sure to contact Eugene – the general manager – and I am quite sure he will point you in the right direction. He certainly adds value to your vacation as he’s always willing to help and just one phone call away. We enjoyed so much our stay that we are coming back next year. 100% recommended!

The moment I pulled into the entrance of Villa Tranquila this review began writing itself. Typically, pictures and video clips aren't able to capture the vastness of a villa and its bedrooms. Each bedroom, king and double Queen, was its own apartment with a full bathroom, living area and deck with comfortable seating and a pool or garden/jungle view. Bathrooms had super hot showers with good pressure. Irons & ironing boards in each suite. Spoiled. I'm from New York and have seen many apartments smaller than these suites. The ice buckets, mini fridges and separate room keys gave Villa Tranquila the feel of a resort but still the seclusion of a private home. Which is a perfect segue to the lack of neighbors. My group of 17 partied loudly through the night, inside and poolside without a single peep from anyone. No visible neighbors. It was perfect. Villa Tranquila is SUPER ideal for large groups. Aside from the bedrooms, there is also comfy seating and a bar in the upstairs common area. I felt like Sam from Cheers. Different sized glasses overhead, plenty counter space, ice machine and mini fridge. We took turns plugging our iPads into the sound system and rocked out on the wifi to Spotify playlists. Serving food in the kitchen was actually fun too. The 2 large fridge/freezers held all the groceries we needed for the week and some. The counter space held the cooked food and 17 of us sat family style. The pool and backyard were comfy, ideal for grilling and aesthetically pleasing. Everything I just explained, we discovered within our first few hours on site. It was later in the trip that we realized the property's General Manager Eugene, and his wife Sary, were Godsends. True angels. There wasn't much that we needed but everything that we wanted and could have thought we wanted was available. I don't want to give too many examples just in case a potential guests decides to take advantage of my new friends' decency- but here is one: I arranged transportation to take 12 of us into Tamarindo on our last night. The shuttle did not show (it was around 11pm). I hesitantly called Eugene for a number to a reliable taxi. He gave me a response like "reliable taxi? Please...I'll take you guys." He made 2 trips to drive us 15 minutes into town for as much of a non-emergency as could be. This was my 2nd trip to Costa Rica and I also have planned trips for clients. It is my sole intention to stay and suggest that folks stay in Villa Tranquila. Nothing short of amazing!

Only downside was a bit of a walk or short drive to the beach and about 15 mins to town but the club house within the community had awesome food and great swimming and services.

We had 19 people who were willing to journey with Houston's First Baptist Church to serve the people of Costa Rica. In order for that to happen we needed to find housing. I cannot tell you exactly how we found this beautiful place, but knew that Lord directed us. Villa Tranquila was more than just a place to stay it was a blessing. Words are not adequate in regards to begin to explain the beauty. The whole experience was exceptional from housing cleaning all the way to gardening. Every person takes pride in maintaining the home. They do a real good job making this house a home. I want to personally thank Eugene for doing such an amazing job serving us. We will definitely be coming back again next year.

We had a group of fourteen family members, we went on this family trip for two weeks for my Fathers 75th Birthday. we didn't get to the house until late at night and the house manager stayed up and waited for us, we were very pleased. The house was Amazing, so big and spacious, lovely pool on the golf course, we golfed there 4 times within the trip. The staff was very nice, gardener, housekeeper, and manager came everyday to make sure we were happy and pleased with everything. The house was very well cleaned and maintained. I would recommend anyone to go there, we had an amazing experience. Costa Rica is a beautiful place!

This estate is the best that we have ever stayed thus far. We held an evening reception that continued on till 7AM the next morning for 150 family and friends. We celebrated a wedding with a fire show, mini marching Brazilian band and 2 DJ's that rocked the house all night and morning long right in the backyard. Everyone had an amazing time. The golf course was a short walk as well as the beaches. There was more than enough for all of us to do. If you want exciting adventure, amazing sight seeing expeditions Costa Rica is the place, if you want a great place to stay and not worry about a thing than Villa Tranquila is your next destination.

We recently stayed at Villa Tranquila, and had a marvelous time! The manager is first rate, with such hands on assistance with anything we needed, whether it was a ride to the beach club, or to Tamarindo, or offering help to arrange a great river outing, he was there to make sure we had everything we needed. The house is amazing with 8 beautiful suites, a wonderful kitchen, a beautiful pool and just a quick walk or ride to 2 great beaches. It is private and very safe. It was easy to access the offerings at Hacienda Pinella and Tamarindo! We had daily maid and pool service which made the experience even more pleasant. The beach club is wonderful, with a great pool, spa and restaurant. The Playa Langosta Beach was so beautiful and very quiet! I highly recommend this property!!

We rented a Kariokee machine which made all the difference. If you travel with a group its vacationing on the cheap in style. House Pool, beaches, and beach club with pool amazing. Some of the most beauitful beaches I've ever seen and we've been all over the world. Security is excellent as no one from outside enters the compound without being on a list. Town is about 15 min. But really didn't need it. Our host gene was available 24/7 to help in any way. He is on premisis. He really pays attention to detail. Wedding was breathtaking and was prepared with Danielle. We had to do almost no preparation and it turned out great!!! I know this review sounds too good to be true but this place is worth every penny. We're returing that's a fact.. We had a group of nine that stayed at this lovely estate. Our group ranged in age from 20 to 69 and all had a fantastic time. The manager of the property was extremely helpful in planning golf, beach visits, horseback riding, water tubing, rodeo, fishing, and zip lining. All events were first class, exciting, well priced, and safe. if you want an experience that is first rate from start to finish, Villa Tranquila is the place for your next vacation!!! Truely an unforgetable time away from the humdrum of day to day life. Food and kitchen amenities are outstanding, plan a stay here and live as Royality, your only problem is returning to reality. the ownership of this villa cares about your group having the best vacation of your life!

Our family of 3 generations travelled here with ages from 2 yrs old up to 67 yrs old. We had a fantastic time...we just can't say enough wonderful things...The owner was wonderfully helpful, helped stock some hard to find items before we arrived. In addition the beach was easily accessible from two different directions, we were right on the golfcourse and tennis courts. My kids loved renting golf carts and I felt safe letting them travel out to the beach with the golf carts by themselves (17yo and 10 yo). Access to pools, surfing, and we basically had the place to ourselves and never felt crowded. Kitchen was very well stocked, big areas for congregating, the pool and grounds were immaculately kept...wish we could have gotten the chef but he was booked up so if you desire that, please take consideration to arrange early. Activities abound nearby and you're far enough out of Tamarindo so as to never feel pressed but if you want to run in to town for shopping it's close enough. If you want to experience surfing, beach going, or just plain rest and relaxation with privacy this was exactly what you need. I will say months later my 2 yo son still asks about returning to Costa Rica and every family member has said that's the best vacation we've ever had and we've travelled as family a lot with our medical missions organization. Go, have fun, relax. And if you can't unplug there's great internet access but I highly recommend unplugging and just hanging by the pool with your family/friends. Activities were very close so if you want to kayak, zip line, horseback ride, surf, sail, you can do it all with little trouble.

We stayed in Villa Tranquila for a week. Since we got there Eugene was very nice and kind, he showed us the Villa and he helps us with whatever we needed. Jimmy was very helpful cleaning the pool and taking out the trash, and Elena did a wonderful job with the housekeeping, everything looked very sharp!. We were a large party but the house is so big everybody had their own space. The dinning and kitchen are very comfortable for all of us. The Villa is well equipped we didn't feel the need for more. The bedrooms are huge and lovely, I got ready in one of them and we had the make up artist, my mom, dad, sister, brother in law and best friend in on single room and still there was room left!. The back yard is beautiful we had some pictures taken there and they look terrific! Also our wedding reception was at the pool area with a 6 people band and of course instruments, tables and chairs for 34 and we all fit really well, plus and outside bar and room to dance!. We had a great experience and we totally recommend you to stay there!!

We stayed here with a small group of 7 all late 20s early 30s. i say small because this home can sleep well over 20 comfortably. Its situated in a massive compound of villas. The private beach is beautiful and quiet. The beach club has a great pool and delicious food you should definitely check out. Once you book you can request various services to your home like private chef, massages, etc. That really made our stay even more special, oh and make sure to request some golf carts to get you around the compound. They definitely saved us time getting around. Golf course is great and challenging. Downtown bars and the main public beach is about a 15 minute drive we didn't mind. Be prepared to be on the outskirts which we enjoyed since it was a short cab ride to where we needed but came with immaculate private beaches. The best activity we did was rent a private catamaran for snorkeling and watching the sunset. Highly recommended.

We loved our spring break getaway to Villa Tranquila. The Villa is just as beautiful as the pictures depict! Perfect weather in the high 90’s without a drop of rain! We loved the beautiful spacious guest rooms and property. The kitchen and eating area was wonderful to accommodate all 22 of us with wonderful spacious fridges and freezers. We loved having our own private pool and evenings out on the deck. Our favorite beach in all of Costa Rica was just three minutes away at Playa Langosta. Perfect waves for surfing, breath taking sunsets and our favorite place to swim and play on the beach. We loved the beach club on the resort and enjoyed ordering delicious nachos and pina coladas by the pool in the daytime and evening dinners of fish tacos and seafood at night. The Villa Tranquila staff were amazing at answering all our questions before arrival, arranging transportation, private chefs and helping us plan our day excursions snorkeling, deep sea fishing and our favorite day of zip lining, horseback ricing and water sliding fun!! We loved the proximity to Tamarindo for fun days at the beach and good restaurants at night. It was an amazing vacation! We loved having our own private home with a resort feel and would highly recommend it!

I reserved Villa Tranquila as a place to hold my wedding reception, and for mine and my husband’s immediate family to stay for the three days surrounding our wedding. Not having seen the Villa in person, I was anxious about whether it would be what I expected. Upon arrival, my worries completely melted away. The photos we saw on the website were beautiful, but didn’t nearly do the Villa justice. I couldn’t hide my ear to ear smile when we arrived and toured the home for the first time. It offered everything we could have wanted for our guests- eight equally enormous suites each with a sitting room, patio or balcony, and private bathroom. In addition the Villa has two large living areas, a gourmet kitchen, and a stunning yard with a private pool surrounded by swaying palm trees. It was great for our entire family to be able to spend time together in the common areas, and also have their privacy when needed. The yard provided the perfect backdrop for a wedding reception, and being in such close proximity to the beach made getting to and from our ceremony a breeze. Not only was the Villa incredibly spacious and beautiful, but the location within Hacienda Pinilla was so convenient. There are free shuttle services on demand to anywhere within the entire Hacienda Pinilla property, including the restaurants, beaches, and other resort facilities. That made it very convenient for meeting up with our other wedding guests who were not staying at the Villa, but were at one of the hotels within Hacienda Pinilla. The Villa far exceeded any expectations I had, and was the key to how perfect we felt our wedding turned out. Villa Tranquila will always hold a special place in my heart, and I look forward to returning in the future.

Villa Tranquila (translated as Peaceful or Tranquil Estate) lives up to its name.  Having just spent 7 days & 7 nights at this 13,000 square foot Villa, I can truly say that we found paradise!   Situated about 3 minutes from the ocean and extremely close to other amenities, here is how we spent a typical day. In the mornings, I played 18 holes of golf at the top-tier golf course – Hacienda Pinilla – on which the Villa is located on the 18th green.  My wife slept in until the soft rays of the sun pierced the sheers and either the birds or the wind in the palm trees sang her a morning song. We worked out at the gym (within walking distance) containing cardio machines, free weights and yoga mats.   As soon as we could gather our gear, we headed to the beaches. Our favorite beach was Playa Langosta, a private beach just 3 minutes from the villa where the ocean scenery, turquoise waves and luscious vegetation are simply breath-taking.  The beach has wood shade huts and enough lounge chairs for every member of the house party.  There are a number of other beaches within a 10 min drive, including a multi-million dollar beach club for those staying within the Hacienda Pinilla campus.   We took in a massage, shopped at the tourists stores in Tamarindo, or stayed at the Villa proper under the huge back porch balcony or around the landscaped pool.   Prior to our arrival, the staff provided a list of activities, with details on location, time commitment and pricing. Activities included: horseback riding, zip-lines, Jet Ski & ATV rental, snorkeling, surfing lessons, tennis, golf, bird watching, site-seeing to volcanoes, jungle slides, mountain biking, hiking and our favorite pastime – dining out.   Our favorite restaurant, Patagonia, is also located in Tamarindo, and features some of the best surf and turf from local catch of the day.  There are several night clubs and endless walks on the beach under moonlight for romantic evenings.   We felt safe and comfortable all week long.  Each room is furnished with its own air-conditioning, ceiling fans, coffee machine, large showers, valuables safe and a private balcony.  Fresh beach towels were each day. The rooms are spacious and the Villa boasts 8 large suites which can sleep 24 comfortably in a soft bed. The maid service was the best and completely worked around our schedule. The staff is professional, bi-lingual and super friendly. It is not a question of IF we come back, but WHEN
