We had the most amazing dream vacation with our group of friends at El Chante! This property is magical, pure paradise on earth and even more beautiful than the pictures show. Cris and the Stay in Tamarindo Team were absolutely incredible to work with throughout the entire trip planning and during our stay. Cris went above and beyond in helping to book our excursions, travel and food arrangements. The staff at El Chante were very helpful and made a delicious breakfasts for us, too. You will not be disappointed!

El Chante is indeed enchanting! Our stay was superb. From the beautiful Bali architecture, expansive ocean and jungle views, luscious grounds, abundant wildlife, and excellent concierge, responsive staff, chef and massage services, every part of our stay was magnificent. We had such a wonderful time with our 16-person family group! The grounds and views are just so beautiful - even better than the photos in the listing if that's possible! Everyone had their own quiet space with the layout of the individual bungalows, and the common room off the kitchen looking out over the beach was a great place for us to all spend time together! We'd love to come back again!

We just had one of the most memorable weeks at El Chante in Tamarindo. The property was large enough that everyone in our group had their own space and was able to have their own unique experiences while also intimately connecting us with the main living space and large kitchen. Sometimes there were even monkeys hanging around and entertaining us in the trees! The outdoor bathrooms and showers were lovely and came with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner, FYI, nice touch! It was a steep walk to the property but everyone in our group ranging from 4-75 years old was able to do it and get our blood flowing! Another option would be to rent a golf cart but we did not feel it was necessary for us. We felt very safe and loved that it was a quiet gated community. Diego, the concierge and property manager was available and responsive to me at what seemed like 7 days a week and all hours to answer questions, help with anything that came up and mostly assist with booking excursions, experiences, and transportation. He was able to edit and make bookings last minute or ahead of time for us! We hired our own chef and gave her one of the queen-room bungalows to stay in. She did a fabulous job the entire time and was even able to accommodate our many allergies and special requests. Arlette was a hard worker who was always the last person to leave the kitchen at night. Overall we were very sad to leave and will always think fondly of this trip. Don't wait, book it!

We had waited three years to finally stay in El Chante. The wait was well worth it. El Chante is a rainforest oasis. We felt like we were in an Indians Jones movie. The wildlife joined us several times in our living area. The open air concept was wonderful. The rooms were very comfortable and private. The outdoor showers surrounded by rainforest were so refreshing. The house keeping staff was so kind and welcoming. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to experience this home. We all said how boring our homes are when we returned home!

Better than you can imagine! We had 16 guests stay at El Chante for 5 days and everything about the stay was phenomenal. Pictures truly don’t do this place justice. The staff was incredible, we went with all their recommendations when planning and coordinating the stay. Highly recommend the private chef and getting massages. Still beaming from our trip!

The El Chante home is absolutely amazing. The staff that handles cleaning and breakfast are absolutely perfect. I can't say enough about them or our concierge Diego. They will help you arrange whatever you need while you're there and will work with you and your group to make sure you get breakfast at a time that works for you. BTW, the breakfast and coffee are delicious. The property is beautiful and you will feel like you are staying in the jungle, even though you are only a 5-minute walk to the beach. Our group all had a great time and there were zero complaints. If I had to say one thing negative it would be that there is no volleyball to use on-premises, even though the beach volleyball courts are at the closest beach entrance from the house. Bring your own volleyball if your group is into that sort of thing.

Our Time at El Chante was perfect for my wife's 50th birthday. The property is simply stunning, with a great setting, individual bungalows and amazing areas for getting the group together like the lounge/kitchen area and the incredible pool. The staff helped to make the stay flawless and we even had a private chef for the big birthday dinner. Our guests were blown away and will never forget the experience. We were a group of 12 and rented El Chante in the middle of January for five days. We could not have had a better weekend getaway. Many members of the group said it was the best vacation they've had.
The rental itself was unique, very private, and perfectly located. The property consists of five large bungalows with king beds, three cottages with queen beds, and two other separate bungalows, one has and indoor living room area and the other has an outdoor living space with a full kitchen.
The home is situated on the side of a hill overlooking Tamarindo beach, the river mouth, and Playa Grande. The property is built into the surrounding landscape. It's difficult to get a sense of the size of the property due to the foliage and trees. This lends itself to a feeling of privacy and seclusion. If you want time to yourself, you can hang out at your respective bungalow. If you'd like to hang with the group, the open living area is top-notch.
Half our group wanted to surf; the other half wanted to relax, swim, and enjoy the amenities. The home is located half-way up a hill near the beginning of the city. The views were simply awesome. We could look out from the living room and see the surf. I personally liked the location because we would walk down the hill with our boards and surf the Tamarindo beach break. We also walked down to the river mouth and took a ferry across the river to surf Playa Grande.
Each morning the staff prepared breakfast for the group. Eating breakfast overlooking the ocean was a perfect way to start each day. Most nights we ate dinner in town. One day, three of us went charter fishing. I contacted Joyce, the house manager, and she arranged for the staff to come to the house to prepare our catch on our last night. Having fish tacos at the house was a perfect way to end the trip.
The house was perfect. The location was perfect. The staff could not have been better. They had a small bus and golf carts delivered to the house. They arranged dinner reservations. Whatever we needed, they were there, happy to help. I want to give my personal thanks to Veronica, with AirBNB, and to Joyce, the house manager. They made our trip stress-free and everything we hoped for. I'd rate out weekend a 10 out of 10!
I highly recommend this home, and without a doubt, we intend to return as soon as we can!

We cannot say enough amazing things about this place! We traveled to Tamarindo for our wedding and El Chante was the perfect fit for us. Not only was it truly the most beautiful place to stay in Tamarindo - I mean ... the views, the open space, the Bolenisian theme throughout the property, the staff, the pool, everything! It was so nice that all our loved ones were able to stay with us for our wedding but every one was able to have their own privacy as well. Joyce was so great, anything we needed or had any questions, all we had to do was ask and she was on it right away! We truly felt at home here and will absolutely be back! Oh what a mind blowing house… I loved everything about it. Enchanting, romantic, the best interior, positive energy, peace, really close to the beach, spectacular ocean view and so on. Everyone has his/her own little “casita” with a beautiful room, bathroom and terrace. I loved the infinity pool and the huge garden. The amenities were perfect and the hosts were always very responsive and really helpful with the ‘what to do’s” and the ‘where to go’s”. I absolutely recommend Casa El Chante!!!

Amazing and surprising. The place is a spectacular multi-cabin house on the top of a hill with a breathtaking view from pretty much every spot of the house. Pool environment is great for chillin. The kitchen is fully equipped and perfectly integrated with the main dining room and deck. The admins are also super responsive and making sure you have a great time.
You can’t go wrong with this place.

Casa El Chante was amazing! The view of the ocean was spectacular and we could hardly hear the busy street from this location. The hill is a little steep, so be prepared for a bit of a climb and some stairs. I didn't want to leave! Such a wonderful house with the perfect garden and its fruit trees, all beautiful Balinese style rooms with outdoor showers, private terraces with lovely daybeds, an infinity lap pool, extra friendly hosts and excellent housekeeping. We had a great experience with local surf instructor ‘Carlos’ and not to forget the best massages we’ve ever had from a French lady ‘Caroline’. Thanks to all for a fantastic stay!

An amazing tropical garden, so much wildlife and an infinity lap pool. Beautiful Balinese art spread all over the property. It’s truly magical. Fruit trees with mangoes, bananas, breadfruit, citrus, guanabana, etc. You can make the freshest juices ever! The most amazing kitchen I have ever seen. We recently stayed at El Chante in Tamarindo for a week and had a lovely time. Our group consisted of 6 adults and 9 kids ages 10-17. The property was very unique in that we had a beautiful central gathering place but everyone also had his/her own private sleeping accommodations. The 5 larger suites were plenty big for couples and the smaller newer rooms were just right for teenage boys. We also easily fit 4 girls in one of the master suites with adjoining bunk room. The living room, dining room and kitchen are all open air and were very enjoyable for breakfasts and dinners. The TV room was very comfortable for watching college bowl games on TV. We used the decks off of the living room for both sunset viewing and private yoga in the home. We also enjoyed the pool and massage areas down below. Breakfasts were included in our stay which was great. We hired Chef Fabien to come prepare dinner for the group a few times. Daily cleaning and laundry service was a treat. We used Carlos Arias as our concierge for the stay and he was amazing! He charges a daily fee but it was well worth it. Carlos was with us for most of the trip and by the end of the trip we felt like he was family. From planning excursions to surf lessons with the kids, Carlos did it all! Arne, the house manager was also very helpful in answering our questions prior to the trip. The house location is great because it is high enough up the hill to get a great view but also walking distance to the beach. We rented golf carts to get around town which I highly recommend. There are a few things that our group noticed that future renters should be aware of. First, the home is perfectly well lit during the day but the bedrooms and common spaces are all a little dark at night. Additionally, the bathrooms really are outside and although they are beautiful, it takes a little getting used to. Also, the home is built on a hill so expect to do a lot of walking if you are in one of the further bedrooms. Finally, the town of Tamarindo can be loud. We happened to stay during a 3-4 day beach concert with the music going into the wee hours of the night. I am pretty sure that this concert coincided with New Year's holiday but you may want to double check before booking. We definitely recommend El Chante in Tamarindo!

This house is the perfect combination of luxury and simplicity, it's tasteful and well decorated. It is a beautiful open home that allowed us to feel in contact with nature. I came with a group of friends (couples and one kid) and we really enjoyed the privacy of each bedroom with its own bungalow as well as having an amazing huge living area where we could share our meals and hang out together. The pool / terrace area is just heaven, surrounded by trees and with a great view of Tamarindo's bay! The house staff is top notch at what they do and very friendly. The property manager was very helpful since before we arrived. Also thanks Cristina for setting us up with an amazing catamaran and atv tour, we had a blast!
