LOCATION AND SURROUNDINGS
• It’s 0.55 miles (900mts) to the beach
• A short 10-minute drive from the Tamarindo Airport
• 1h drive from the Liberia International Airport
• Please allow us to recommend renting a 4x4 vehicle during your stay at Casa Xanadu (Golf cart not recommended). The road up the hill from the beach is not paved and can be tricky to navigate, especially in the rainy season.

Casa Xanadu was the perfect location and walkable area to beach and shops. The house provided a beautiful view of Tamarindo beach. Our coordinator, Adriana provided amazing assistance with bakery and decorator vendors. Everything was executed perfectly.

This Airbnb was just as advertised with a beautiful view and a clean interior. The rooms are nice and there were enough towels etc for our time there. The Airbnb is close to everything but also a little difficult to access due to the unpaved steep road. The location was amazing and the views were spectacular. The house was very well stocked with towels and kitchen ware. The furniture was in great condition and our stay was comfortable. The pool was clean and my kids enjoyed the pool every evening during our stay.
The only minor issues was that the toilet fill valve for the toilet in the first floor gets stuck and I had to open the lid to get it to work and fill the tank after each use. Very minor inconvenience that did not affect our stay as there were 3 other bathroom. I did not report it because the fix action takes 5 seconds to do.
Also, be aware that the road going to the house is steep and unpaved going up the hill. Cars have no problem getting there, but the road is bumpy for a few minutes.
Overall, great stay and would book again in the future.

We had an excellent stay and this was a fantastic property. The view from the outdoor living space and the pool was fantastic! The house had plenty of amenities and everything we needed for a great stay. The rooms and beds were comfortable and spacious. The property management company was proactive in their communication. Adriana was a great host, very responsive, and the house was even more beautiful in person than the photos. The sunsets were spectacular and the beach was very easy to get to with the car we rented, just a short drive down the hill and you’re basically at the beach.
Would definitely come here again, the crew (maid, handy man, etc..) were very helpful and considerate.

We had an amazing time and the house made our family vacation absolutely perfect. No issues, on the contrary, everything was fantastic! The view is stunning, right out of a movie. We were surprised how easy it was to get into town (and thanks to tons of Ubers always within 5-10 minutes away, we were able to return home quickly and affordably after long relaxing dinners in town). Also, we really appreciated how easy it was to arrange for a van to take us to/from the airport. That eliminated what little stress we had so we could just focus on enjoying our time in this casual, warm surfing village. We look forward to returning and also recommending it to our friends. Casa Xanadu is a fantastic place to enjoy all the benefits Tamarindo has to offer. We had 4 couples who each had their own private air conditioned room, which was very handy at night when you need to rejuvenate from all the activities available. When we were not on some adventure, we spent all of our time on the most fantastic veranda. The pool overlooking the distant hills and ocean was simply spectacular. Every evening we were mesmerized by the sunset which was breathtaking. We ate dinner every night outside at the spacious table and just took in the sounds of the birds and monkeys. From our veranda we saw howler monkeys, many birds, and an iguana the size of a large dog... simply amazing. While the house is perfect, the concierge team of Cris and Adrianna were even better, as they delivered the best service I have experienced, from perfectly put together excursions to an unparalleled fast response time to any need that presented itself during our stay. Probably one of the most lavish airbnbs I’ve ever stayed at. Although to get to the house you have to drive/walk up a steep hill, it’s completely worth it. Million Dollar View
As soon as you walk through the door you are greeted with the best view in Tamarindo. You probably will spend 99% of your time out by the pool but if you don’t like breathe taking views you’ll find a very clean and spacious house. Each bedroom has its own AC unit and the kitchen is more than big enough to cook large family meals. Do not expect to traverse the hill everyday into the city as it has a pretty steep incline, highly recommend having a car or using Uber. Better than we imagined!
Words can not describe how beautiful this villa is. The infinity pool, the view from the master suite is breathtaking. 7 women ages 30+ stayed here for my bachelorette and had the time of our life. We rented two cars to get around Tamarindo and highly recommend this to anyone, driving was easy and it was nice having a car to go up and down the hill to the villa. Kris the host was amazing from check in, to helping arrange a chef, to excursions, to stocking our villa before arrival; you couldn’t ask for a better host. Our group of 7 ladies had a fantastic week at Casa Xanadu in Tamarindo!! We were scheduled to visit in 2020. Unfortunately, COVID closed everything down during that time. Management and staff were very accommodating to ensure we could book for a different date the following year in 2021. They did not disappoint! The services they offered were fantastic and everyone was super nice and helpful. We even picked out some groceries prior to our stay, and the team stocked everything we had asked for. Cris also helped us book every excursion, restaurant reservations, car rental, transportation services including taxis same day, chef services and even booked a nurse to come to the house for the required COVID testing prior to traveling back into the United States!! The house was clean, and the maid services came twice during our stay. The views from the house were also phenomenal to enjoy those spectacular sunsets from poolside! Amazing!! Disregard the previous review as i found not one of the complaints to be valid, at least for our 10 days in the villa. When a couple girls on our trip read it, they purchased bug tents for the beds, but didn’t need to use them once, as we didn’t find a single bug, nor did we get any bites.
Waking up every day to the pool and the view was truly incredible. One day there was even a massive iguana on the tree right in front of us. Other days there was flocks of beautiful green parrots flying in the distance. The daily sunsets are breathtaking.
If we needed anything at all management would instantly respond to my messages on whatsapp and someone would be by the villa in a few minutes. As for the hill that the villa is located on; yes it is a bit rough but we had an electric golf cart that made it up with 4 people on it several times a day, definitely not a smooth ride though lol. Also having a golf cart was extremely convenient and fun, and made the strip of restaurants, bars, stores, and the beach; all located directly at the bottom at the hill, extremely accessible. You can be anywhere in the little town within 5-10 minutes on a golf cart, which really made the trip a lot more enjoyable, having everything we needed a short and enjoyable drive away. (Enjoyable through the town, but slightly annoying going up and down the bumpy drive on the hill, but you just need to go slow and its really not that bad, and I’m sure in a 4x4 it would be non issue entirely)
I really cant possibly recommend staying here enough. We were a group of 8, 4 couples in our early 30s, and were extremely comfortable here, all the beds were great. Lastly, the restaurants around the villa were all so delicious, we really didn’t have a bad meal once, and they were all very fairly priced, we were very impressed.

It truly looks like heaven meeting earth the way the infinity pool meets the ocean and sky. The sunsets from this home are amazing! You could be content never leaving Xanadu your entire stay. Or you can check the tide from your balcony and go for a surf! I was hesitant on staying during this time of year but I was very pleasantly surprised. Although I didn’t receive check in directions the property manager was easy to track down and arrange. The property sits near the top of a hill which provides amazing views and sunsets. A cleaning service was provided half way through which was a welcome surprise. Staff was kind and accommodating with our minimal needs. There are 4 beds and according to the staff you can get a store away of some sort if needed. ACs work well in the rooms but common areas remain warm but this wasn’t much of an issue. The house is one of its kind. It is big, great for kids and the view is really breathtaking. Sitting in the pool in the late afternoons slowly watching the sun set was an unforgettable experience. I was a bit worried about visiting during the rainy season, but it was sunny most of the time and it was quite fun watching the short storm approach coming down the valley. Also loved Tamarindo. I strongly recommend going fishing with Gerald aboard the Rainbow Runner. We went out for a half day and caught a bunch of tuna and ate the freshest possible sashimi for dinner that night on the terrace. Sensational!

First of all, the house has one of the most incredible views we have ever seen. You open the front door and are blown away by the natural beauty of this place. The house itself was comfortable and spacious, and a great place to feel very relaxed. Our kids loved the huge infinity pool! We spent most of our time in the outdoor living areas, but we did enjoy having AC in the bedrooms, even though we did not even it need it most of the time. It is true that the road up is a little bumpy and I definitely recommend a 4X4, but once you are up there, the location more than makes up for it! The house is also located at the beginning of Tamarindo, which is a big plus as you don't have to drive through town every time you leave. Tamarindo is a great town, with something for everyone! We loved the restaurants and the beach down in front of Capitan Suizo was perfect to take the little ones swimming and boogie boarding. The only issue we had was one day one of the AC units would not turn off. We called the property managers and they came and fixed it the same day. Incredible property, incredible views, incredible
An incredible place! The views and the infinity pool are out of this world and the house perfectly comfortable. We loved our stay here and will definitely be back. As a surfer, being able to check out conditions from the bedroom- a mega luxury! There's plenty to do roundabout, but if you are looking for a bit of adventure, head up to rincón de la vieja and swim in the blue waterfalls.
