Every guest receives a box of chocolates on arrival. This Christmas, five of those boxes hold something more — a golden ticket, worth one extra night on us. La Casa Familia was the perfect place to host our small yoga retreat. We loved holding sunset and evening yoga underneath the stars on the upper deck and morning yoga by the pool. The house provided enough gathering spaces to be together and spaces to also seek solace when needed. Tomas was exceptional in helping plan excursions and other things that we needed during our stay. The house mom, Emely is wonderful. She cooked authentic Costa Rican breakfasts, as well as American breakfast, made snacks, helped with laundry and cleaned the house. Casa La familia is within walking distance to the beach, some restaurants and bars. I most enjoyed that it was away from the fray of Tamarindo. Quiet and beautiful. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience.

What an incredible home and location!! A short, 3-minute walk from the beach and a world-class surf break, and less than a 5-minute walk to great restaurants and bars. RipJack is super close, and we loved having a post-beach meal while watching the howler monkeys with a cocktail. Also, El Huerto is some of the best pizza we've had anywhere! The house is even better in person, with no attention to detail spared. It was amazing having the beach cruiser bikes available to cruise around on the sand, and we had an absolute blast in the pool. Tomas, our concierge, helped make everything easy for us, from our airport transfers to our golf cart rental (highly recommended if you want to easily cross over to Tamarindo on the water taxi). Emily, our house mom, had cocktails and fresh fruit ready for us our whole stay, while keeping everything immaculately tidy. 10/10: We can't wait to come back again with our familia!

We had a wonderful stay.The property was beautiful and comfortable. Emily, our house mom was exceptional. She was warm, attentive and a pleasure to have around. Beautiful property, clean, and responsive host! We loved everything about this stay from the host helping to coordinate private chef, transportation, and excursions. They were also super responsive and ready to help when the power went out due to a power line issue. Overall amazing amazing stay! We will be back!

The home was beautiful and exactly as advertised! Everything was clean and organized for us when we arrived -- it truly felt like walking into a resort. The host connected us to great local providers for an in-home chef, as well as a beautiful sunset cruise. The house mom, Jema, was also so kind and helpful during our stay! We would definitely stay again.

Great time! House was beautiful, breathtaking! We were so spoiled by Anna the house mama! She cooked and cleaned and made yummy drinks for us! Tomas was great too, helping us with small details along the way! The house is close to the beach. We liked having the bikes to ride to the beach and even drove the car down to avoid the walk with some of the family that couldn’t walk that far. Not quite on the beach but so close and no complaints from us! Hope to be back! Pura Vida!

This was an unforgettable vacation for our family! We had plenty of room and our kids will forever talk about Anna the house mama that totally spoiled us with great breakfasts and smoothies! The beach is beautiful, waves are great! It was a little trek to the beach. We ended up driving or riding the bikes which was super nice to have. Lots of cute shops and places to eat close by. We miss you Anna already!!

This property in Playa Grande was an excellent amount of space for our group of 19. The pools were thoroughly enjoyed, the air conditioning was a must and worked well, and we enjoyed preparing meals in the beautiful kitchen and living space.

We stayed at Casa La Familia for my daughter's wedding. this house is nothing short of absolutely spectacular. it is equipped with everything you could possibly need and the house mom was kind and gracious and did a wonderful job. this house is even more beautiful than the pictures show. the location was wonderful with just a short 5 minute walk to the beach and some really great restaurants. if you're visiting Playa Grande and have a large family I highly recommend this house.

Wonderful Service
We had an amazing stay at Casa La Familia, and a huge part of that was thanks to Alejandra Vargas, our wonderful house mom. From the very first day, Alejandra helped us with everything we needed and truly made us feel at home. Every morning she prepared a delicious breakfast for us, helped us with laundry, and was always attentive to every detail. She even took the time to teach us how to fold the towels perfectly — a small gesture that shows how much she cares. She was also incredibly kind, patient, and attentive with our children, always making them feel comfortable and well cared for. Alejandra is warm, thoughtful, and truly exceptional. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

This house was amazing, clean and spacious, the yard and pool were beautiful and well maintained The location was exceptional, close to the beach and within walking distance to many shops and various eating places. we always felt safe and the house mom was a sweetheart. our three generation of 18 family enjoyed every moment here
