Everything about our experience at La Luz was ideal. The transportation to and from the airports went beautifully, the adventure experiences were a wonderful addition. Rafa took excellent care of every detail. Lorena was outstanding, such a smiling personality and always accommodating. Her breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. Jay did an excellent job in the grounds. The villa had the exact amount of bedrooms and space for our group. Everything was clean and very well attended. My one wish was that there was a big enough dining room table to comfortably fit us all. We are 13 and the table really only had enough chairs and room for 10. Additionally I would have appreciated an outdoor eating option rather than 2 indoor dining areas. We had a wonderful experience and I hope Will will return. Such an amazing time in your beautiful country

We had the BEST time here celebrating my husband's 40th birthday with all our friends and family. The location was perfection and the house was amazing. The photos do not do it justice. One of our favorite Airbnb's we have ever stayed at. The staff was incredibly helpful an accommodating and we will definitely be back! Do yourself a favor and BOOK!

This was our first time booking through Airbnb out of country, we were very nervous, however Rafa made this so easy. Always communicated, helped to schedule excursions and always available to answer any questions we had. House was Absolutley gorgeous, staff was super friendly, cooking us best pancakes ever! Snacks and smoothies throughout the day were a huge plus. Overall we have an amazing time!

Our stay at Casa de Luz was nothing short of incredible! The sunsets were absolutely stunning every night and exploring the tide pools with all the marine life was such a fun experience. The beach toys kept everyone entertained and the housekeeping ladies were exceptional so kind and thorough. Jay was always on top of maintenance. All the tours we booked were as amazing as described and Rafa, the manager, went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. We can’t wait to return! Casa de Luz is now our go-to paradise!

AMAZING EXPERIENCE!! Our concierge, Rafa made sure we had everything we requested, from transportation to a private chef, and was there to greet us upon arrival. Our housekeeper Lorena was really sweet. She cooked us a delicious breakfast, snacks and drinks. Very safe, perfect location. You can walk to anywhere, but we recommend golf carts in case of rain. They’re easy and fun. Casa De Luz, is in fact a true house of light. Highly recommend! ???????????

My stay in Tamarindo was excellent. The host was extremely responsive everytime we sent a message and provided clear instructions of how to get to and inside of the house. The house is easily walkable to the main town of Tamarindo and we really enjoyed walking on the beach right behind the house. Would recommend to families and groups of friends for an incredible getaway.

Casa de Luz was absolutely beautiful, the views were breathtaking and EXACTLY as the pictures reflect. Everyone was comfortable throughout this extremely spacious home. Each bedroom/bathroom was spacious & the house overall was simply a gem! The staff led by Rafa was amazing and extremely attentive. From the moment we arrived, Rafa was there to greet us & attend to our needs, ensuring we had everything we needed. Housekeepers were also very attentive in preparing a great breakfast every morning (except Sundays ... they all are off...deservingly) & cleaning up. They were very attentive and gracious. Casa de Luz was a beautiful home in a the perfect location in Tamarindo. We loved having a beach access & being so close to town.
The staff was extremely helpful and covered all of our needs through out our stay! They helped with all excursion booking, transportation, laundry/cleaning, and the breakfast service was delicious every day!
Would definitely recommend staying here - they made the trip seamless & helped every step of the way.

Amazing Costa Rica getaway! We had a large group of 12 (combo of family & friends) stay for a week at Casa De Luz. The house was spacious and worked out great for our groups needs. Lorena and Liz were fantastic cooks for us all week and Rafa was very helpful in scheduling excursions and golf cart rentals we wanted. Casa De Luz is a great location if you want to be on the beach in a safe neighborhood but close enough to drive the golf cart into Tamarindo to shop, grab dinner, or enjoy the nightlife.

You're staying here for the amazing view outside your back door. Almost every night. Wake up to howler monkeys and the ocean waves. You can find pictures of the house online and couldn't do better. It comfortably fits a large family with kids. The private pool was a refreshing extra with lots of butterflies, iguanas, geckos walking around . The house was very well air-conditioned. Rafa became a family legend. He arranged for great excursions and transportation. He was extremely helpful.

This mansion is absolutely beautiful and the beach was our backyard for the week! Rafa was able to help us take care of every detail from restaurant reservations, booking activities, baby rental items, grocery delivery as well as private chef services and much more. Our stay here was nothing less than incredible! We came for a birthday celebration! The layout of the house was perfect for our family and the older boys loved having the casita by the pool as their own private space. The pool is wonderful and we had massages in our private beach area thanks to a recommendation from Rafa. The house staff and Rafa at this house simply can't be beat. We've stayed at a wide range of houses over the years and none compare to the service level here. All of Rafa's recommendations were perfect and the cleaning staff was friendly, kind and efficient!

Rafa and the Casa de Luz team made us feel right at home. They were attentive and helped us every step of the way. The house was beyond what we expected. Everything was in working order and had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed the pool, the BBQ, and were pleasantly surprised with fine details such as welcome snacks and drinks. We went to Playa Langosta and also had lunch at Tamarindo Downtown. Both are awesome places to spend time at the beach. Great value for the money. This is a place worth a second visit :)

What a perfect home and location for a week of rest. Rafa took care of literally everything and it was just perfection. We used the terrace for yoga regularly and spent hours by the pool. Even though it was hard to leave the house, we did some exploring as well. The monkeys surrounding the property were so fun! I am so in love with this area of Costa Rica and we will absolutely be back. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

We just had an incredible spring break with 3 families at Casa de Luz-3 older teens stayed in the Casita which was perfect for them and the adults and other children stayed in the main house. The pool set up is beautiful and shady by late afternoon. The beach is wonderful to watch sunsets. You need water shoes to get in the ocean at low tide and it is not advised to swim at high tide due to the rocks. The house is beautiful, the staff is fabulous and made as breakfast each morning, cleaned everything and did our laundry. We used the private chef service for two dinners and they were so good. They made us snacks, appetizers and drinks as well. Rafa is great-he organized all of our transportation and excursions. He also communicated when things did not go as planned-did have no water a couple of times due to water shortage and the main gate was not working, but he got on it as quickly as he could, especially during a holiday week. He made us dinner reservations as well and added a few people to an excursion last minute. He responded quickly and always ensured we were well taken care of. Playa Longosta is a quieter part of town with great places to eat and an easy golf cart ride into Tamarindo. We loved our week, it is paradise!

This property was exactly as expected, we actually had some close friends stay here last Fall so we had a pretty high level of confidence that the property would not disappoint! Our stay was a beach dream! Rafa went above and beyond to cater to our large group. From airport transportation logistics to restaurant reservations, surfing lessons, groceries delivered to the house, a private chef, fishing trips, adventure tours, even in-house massages. This house is just mesmerizing! The staff made our stay as pleasant as it could be. We stayed in another property of theirs before Casa de Luz. Diego and Rafa helped us move smoothly between properties and were very accommodating with check-in and check-out times. We loved our visit to Costa Rica!

My only note is that some rooms upstairs were a bit more “shared” than expected. One room connects to two other rooms that are adjacent, so we had a bit of drama choosing rooms as we were all couples (14 people total) so keep that in mind!
Overall one of my favorite places I’ve ever stayed, highly recommended :)

The house was so well laid out, that we all had plenty of space and enjoyed the grounds and location immensely. The location was the cherry on top of the sundae. This place is amazing. The staff are friendly, helpful and excellent at what they do. The daily breakfasts were so good. Having the ocean next to us and the beautiful sunsets were wonderful. Everyone loved exploring the tide pools at low tide too. It was an unforgettable experience and staying at this property certainly made it even better.

We celebrated my parent's 50th anniversary in this villa. There were 15 of us in the house for the week and the house mom's were incredible. It was very nice to have breakfast cooked and the villa cleaned every morning. We did have issues with the washing machine and Rafa and his crew repaired the issue next day. Then the washer broke again that night and they brought us a replacement. My family and I did not get our luggage so the washing machine was very important to us. The location is fantastic and a short walk along the beach or street to the main beach. I would recommend this villa and we plan to be back sometime in the future.

Casa de Luz is a beautiful home with an amazing view. The sunset view is unbeatable. Very spacious house with plenty of room for a large group. Rafa our concierge was very helpful. You can walk to town but renting golf carts would be better. The kitchen is large and easy to cook in. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and polite.

We selected this property for our family gathering and to house everyone for our oldest daughter's wedding. The location and home were perfect with plenty of space for everyone and a great central gathering spot to have meals and quality time together. This home also provided a perfect location for our daughter and her family members to get ready for the wedding, we also took some great family photos down by the beach. The staff helped on a daily basis with the grounds and some cleaning. They were very respectful and helpful. Overall we had an excellent experience and stay here.

My husband and I stayed at Casa de Luz with our respective families and the place was absolutely perfect. It is directly on the beach in Langosta and is a short drive or walk to Tamarindo. The view from the house is unforgettable and although it's not ideal to swim in the water directly in front of the house, more swimmable water is close by in either direction. We had 15 people staying in the house/casitas and no one felt as if we were on top of each other. The property managers, Stay in Tamarindo, were excellent and provided great customer service. Can't recommend this house enough!

It was everything it needed to be for four families with kids ranging from age 7 to 13. The pool is amazing. The walk to town is about 3/4 of a mile so it takes bit, we loved using the golf cart. The private dinners were a huge plus! The service was nothing short of amazing.

Our group really enjoyed our stay at the beautiful, spacious and well appointed, Casa de Luz. The home provided the right amount of privacy and connectedness. The kids loved the bunkroom and the couples were happy to have en-suite bathrooms/bedrooms with spacious closets. The grounds are stunning and the outdoor spaces were perfect for socializing, having morning coffees/afternoon cocktails while listening to the waves crashing against the beach. The beach itself is not great for swimming, but excellent for exploring the tide pools and just chilling. We could walk in either direction and access swimmable beaches. The end-to-end service from the US based booking team through to the on site concierge service (thank you Rafa!) ensured that all of our needs from transportation through to tours, kayaking and surfing lessons were taken care of. Rafa also helped us book golf carts (highlight of the trip for the teens and young adults) which were so much more convenient to get around to beaches, shopping, etc than driving. Our house mom arrived early everyday, prepared breakfast for our large group and kept the house tidy and clean. I also highly recommend hiring Patricia to cook evening meals. Delicious food, she does all of the shopping and prepares multi course meals that included delicious desserts (cheesecake, flan, chocolate birthday cake!). A perfect vacation and vacation home.

This place is a must for large groups. We had 14 people (8 adults, 6 teens) and everyone had more than enough room. Bedrooms are very spacious, common areas are very comfortable, outside amenities are world class. Location is great, close enough to town for easy back and forth yet far enough away for peace and quiet. The concierge is very responsive and helpful for suggestions and coordination of activities and the house staff are very nice (it’s very helpful to have someone that speaks Spanish).
The ocean view is spectacular, including front row seats for breathtaking sunsets.

My group of 21 family members had an amazing time at Casa De Luz. The kitchen and seating areas were great for the large group. The pool was very nice for the kids to have ‘on-property' supervised fun. The beach with really fun tidal pools, and the beach-side hammocks and chairs were an amazing connection to the Pacific Ocean. I highly recommend Casa De Luz but will point out two things you should be aware of. First, it is a solid mile to Tamarindo or just over a mile to the middle of town. We had a couple cars and it was good to have some transport, but many of us walked it many times. There are some groceries a little closer. Golf carts would be a good option if you don't want to have cars, but book early. Next, we had 6 adult couples and kids, right at max capacity. The sleeping arrangements worked out fine for us, but are a little tricky and for a group that big compromises had to be made regarding privacy. So I recommend digging into the bedroom arrangements for large groups. So in a perfect world it would have been slightly closer to town and slightly simpler sleeping arrangements, but everything else about this house and the week I spent there makes up for these minor imperfections and more. I would book it again for sure.

The house exceeded all of our expectations. We had a group of 14 that were scheduled to come down in 2020 for a destination wedding but had to cancel. Rescheduled for December of 2021 with with the same group. The house worked great for everyone, the pool area was one of the most used areas. If we wanted to stay in for a meal the kitchen had everything that we needed. We rented golf carts which made it easy to go into Tamarindo. The service provided by Rafa Villegas from Stay in Tamarindo was 5 stars. If you are looking for a great place to stay with a bigger group I would highly recommend Casa De Luz

Our stay was wonderful! This property is gorgeous with amazing sunsets and space for everyone. Our concierge Rafa was so helpful and nice going out of his way with all our requests, real attention to details. We had the in-house chef Patricia cook for us twice, including maki-maki caught that day by my son! We rented golf carts making the trip into town fun. We were a group of 12 and the villa had perfect accommodations for all of us. We took advantage of having massages at the villa as well as the tours offered by the property company and all were great! Highly recommend Casa de Luz and Stay in Tamarindo for your trip!!

The Villa is amazing with large bedrooms, beautiful property with a pool, ocean front and spacious common area. Located a few minutes out of Tamarindo we rented golf carts for our stay to go back and forth. Our concierge Rafa went out of his way to meet all our requests and there were a lot! He was so wonderful! We also had the in-house chef Patricia come twice during our stay, one time to cook the mahi-mahi caught that day! We used Stay in Tamarindo for all our transportation and tours. Our entire group took the Waterfall Tour with Eddy who was knowledgable and amazingly accommodating us. The Coffee, Chocolate and Sugarcane tour was a lot of fun too, we ate our way through it! Our family, now at 16, meets every 2 years for a reunion. We have been doing this for 20+ years and have met around the globe. We have been using VRBO for all the trips. This property, the people working there daily, plus the company handling the property and especially Aly, their concierge, were the best we have have encountered! If you want to be in Tamarindo and have a large group...THIS IS YOUR PLACE! As other reviews say, the property is exactly as the photo describe. Don't let the "don't swim at the beach in front of house" deter you. It is a 4 minute golf car ride to a perfect place for ages 8 to 75 to swim. The people: Zaida who runs the housekeeping and cooks breakfast...delightful and happy! Harvey who takes care of outside and pool...charming and great with the whole family. The chef, Patricia, you will NOT be disappointed, amazing...her tamales, wrapped in banana leafs, A+; her Columbian dishes, A+, her salads each day, A+....let's just say we all, 16 of us, were impressed and loved having her and her "helpers/family" around each day...lunch and dinner!! Costa Ricans are a happy group and Casa de Luz has the happiest and nicest you can find!! When I say that Aly planned our trip, arranged all our transportation and followed up to make sure all was terrific, I say it with respect and gratitude. If you are wondering where to stay...THIS IS THE PLACE!! Book it today....

We had 9 adults and 5 children on our trip. Aly with Casa de Luz went above and beyond to make our trip perfect. We had golf carts waiting for us and she helped set up numerous transportation including airport transfers. The housekeepers were incredible. They did our laundry and towels every day. The house layout was perfect and we had rooms to spare . Some of the best sunsets are right on the beach at this house . Tamarindo is a short 2-3 minute golf cart ride away. Great location and outstanding service. We will come back

Perfect property to call home for a vacation when with friends and family! Our group of 6 were completely shocked at just how nice, practical, and beautiful the interior of the house was. Our group had an incredible time staying at this house in Tamarindo! Believe it or not, the house was even more stunning in person compared to how great it looks in the pictures. All of house staff were super respectful, thoughtful and polite. It was also super clutch to have such a responsive and informative concierge to set up so many fun activities around the city. Highly recommend zip-lining, ATVs and the party catamaran. The house is also incredibly spacious and not once did we ever feel crowded or on top of each other. Highly recommend for any group looking for a great private getaway in Costa!

Great house for my group, everyone loved the pool and the location was awesome right on the beach.
If you have enough people for every single bed just know that not everyone will have a comfortable bed, just a bed in general.
The chef and housekeepers were amazing and took fantastic care of us, we had lots of delicious meals and everything was always taken care of.

The support staff quietly attends to the house and guests where needed. Just a well run operation. If you are a surfer, the river mouth break and beach break just down the beach are excellent. Primeramente a los interesados en alquilar esta propiedad leer todo, absolutamente todo antes de hacer el booking, si no lo hacen pasaran un mal rato con los administradores en pagos extras y requisitos por garantias.
Si tienen mascotas piensen que tendran que pagar extra en limpieza.
Si es un poco estresante saber que hay arte valioso en toda la propiedad y que se venden, asi que andar con todo el cuidado. Gracias a Dios aunque estuve con 2 bebes y una perrita pequeña no hubo ningún incidente.
A pesar de esto, el lugar es agradable, el personal de limpieza super amigables, la ubicacion es excelente. Muy privado y era lo que buscaba. Agradezco a Aly por permitirnos un late check out por la situacion en cierres de las carreteras por manifestaciones, fue muy considerado de su parte.
Mi familia quedo enamorada de este lugar y en definitiva volveremos si nos lo permiten. Agradezco nuevamente a Zaida y Harvy por el excelente servicio de limpieza y mantenimiento, super atentos.

La casa es sumamente hermosa y amplia, todas las personas disfrutamos nuestra estancia. Al momento de ingresar estaba completamente limpia, al igual que la piscina y las áreas subyacentes. Al ser una residencia completamente aislada, puedes convivir con tu grupo de acompañantes sin temor a contagiarte del Covid. La casa cuenta con salas y comedores amplios al igual que la cocina.
El personal de limpieza se presentó cada día utilizando mascarillas y guantes para seguridad de todo el grupo de acompañantes.
Recomiendo la casa para una convivencia entre familiares cercanos que desean un poco de relax en estos tiempos o que deseen realizar alguna celebración.

This house was amazing! We stayed here in March 2020 for spring break. There were 4 families (7 adults, 8 teenage kids) and it was perfect. There were so many places to hang out that we were never on top of each other. The house was beautiful and so clean... the ladies that came every morning cooked us fantastic breakfasts and managed to clean and wash towels without ever getting in anyone's way. The pool, beach and sunsets are as spectacular as every review and the house description say they are. This house is a rare find... we searched a long time for a home that would accommodate our group, was near Tamarindo, and was on the beach with a pool. Playa Langosta was the perfect town to stay in... it is so peaceful and safe, yet is a golf cart ride away from all the action in Tamarindo. And lastly, Aly was the most incredible concierge. She lined up our golf cart rental, dinner reservations, a private cook for an evening, and so much more. She was the key to a stress free vacation for us, since nobody in our group spoke Spanish. All around EXCELLENT place. Gorgeous location right on the beach, beautiful beach house with so much space, gorgeous "beachy" decor, just an all around lovely spot to be in. Our concierge was over the top helpful with anything we asked - super responsive and great to work with. We lounged by the pool, cooked meals at night, and walked down the beach. Perfect for large families, but also for smaller ones. The kitchen was a dream to cook in. Go and enjoy it to the fullest!

The house is amazing, works perfect for a large family gathering like we had for the holidays! I’d also so the house is nicer in person than the photos show. Aly The host is absolutely amazing, she is great! Perfect English and Spanish and very professional. She managed everything for and helped us with everything we needed. Could not have a better vacation, would go back in a minute! The Cook Option is a must, Patricia was great and the food she prepared was awesome. The house has a large variety of rooms for a big group, I love the master suite and the pool house personally! Casa de Luz is by far one of the best vacation rentals I have stay in. The house was exactly as described. It is the perfect distance from town and was perfect for the reunion we held at the house. We took advantage of the full 23 person accommodations and everyone felt comfortable. The only thing better than the house was the service and attention to detail. Aly, our concierge for the weekend, made sure everything during our stay went perfectly. The trip would not have been the same without her help. She organized a boat trip, golf carts, and a chef for the weekend (all of which I would highly recommend). Lastly, the staff at the house was attentive and considerate. I would definitely book this house again and plan on doing so on my next trip to CR! Pura Vida!

This is an amazing home with beautiful finishes, nice furniture and outstanding views. The pool is really nice too and beach access is just steps away. It is close to the town of Tamarindo and to Playa Langosta - just a few minutes by car. It was also nice to have housekeeping come in to clean / do laundry and have the grounds keeper maintain the pool area every day. Overall our family had a great time and enjoyed our stay at Casa de Luz in Tamarindo!

Being our first time in the country, we knew very little about what to do, where to go or what to expect. First off, the pictures don’t do this home justice... it’s very spacious and a great layout for 3-4 families! Plenty of room for kids and for adults, as well as great spaces for everyone to be together. The beach access gave us amazing walks in the morning, exploring tide pools in the afternoon, and front row seats every night to gorgeous sunsets. The location itself, being just less than a mile from Tamarindo in Langoste was perfect... just far enough away from center of town to feel away from it all, but close enough for quick trips in and out. However, the best feature of the home is Aly, their dedicated concierge. She was instrumental with every aspect of our trip... setting up in-home chef, arranging for all transportation, ensuring we made reservations for different activities well in advance, and just giving us a sense of comfort before ever setting foot in their wonderful country. She was extremely easy to work with, attentive to every detail, and patient with our 1,000 questions. Highly, Highly Recommend this home for your visit.

The house was spacious enough for everyone to have their own room, but small enough so everyone still felt part of the group where ever they were in the house. The shining star with this house is definitely the pool and the access to the water. We literally spent every day in that beautiful backyard. And there was so much wildlife we got to see from the comfort of our own pool! Iguanas, howler monkeys, and the occasional raccoon and skunk all made their way through the backyard at one point or another. The house staff were so kind and attentive. Aly, the house concierge, was amazing and so helpful while planning this getaway. She has great recommendations for excursions and restaurants, and never let us down. I highly recommend booking Patricia, the cook, for a few meals. She makes plenty of food for leftovers, and we were always stuffed to the brim with her delicious meals - my personal favorite was her ceviche. If I had any “complaints” it would be that they were doing some work on the house while we were there and we had what seemed like a lot of workers coming in and out of the property. Also, I was a little disappointed to find out that the house didn’t come with pool toys. Luckily the party before us left a couple we got to use. All that being said, this vacation was such an amazing trip, none of us wanted to go home. I will definitely be back to Costa Rica, and if possible would love to stay at Casa de Luz again.

Amazing place, comfortable for 10 guys. Great location, Beautiful views and Aly handled anything we could throw at her. She was super helpful, recommendations would be to have her caterer come and cook. We enjoyed their cooking and company more than any restaurant in town and it is about the same price. Do the ATV ride and check out the backroads.

Casa de Luz was absolutely amazing and everything I could've ever hoped for. We chose this house after weeks of research and it did not disappoint. We had a wedding party of 22 guests and we never felt crowded, in fact, much of the time you wondered where all the other people were, that's how big this place is and the design/floor plan is genius. The house itself is just as luxurious as it appears in the pictures and all the host and staff were absolutely professional and so helpful. The monkeys and iguanas were right in our backyard, there was even a Bengal cat and a raccoon we made friends with. The concier, Aly was wonderful at booking excursions answering questions and keeoing us up-to-date on things we should know. The chefs were amazing if you're a big family/group, this is an absolute must(it's worth the extra cost)! They made delicious food and cleaned everything up afterwards. The maid was wonderful too - she actually did our laundry, it was magical. The beach was a short walk to get to the soft sand where we could surf and boogie board and the town is rigbt there for shopping and resturants.. We absolutely will return to costa rica. The people were all kind and generous. The jungle cruz and the sailing excursions were a fabulous way to see and explore. More of costa rica..

Hi Janelle! We are so lucky to be so close with nature and have monkeys and iguanas right in our backyard here at Casa de Luz! But I didn’t know we had a cat though, that’s news! Getting out on a boat and seeing our beautiful coastline from the ocean is definitely something I always recommend here on the ‘Gold Coast’ to see how pristine and natural and uninhabited it is (well worthy of the nickname); I’m so happy all the kids and your friends enjoyed the private sailing charter (it is one of the most highly sought after boats here and I’m sure the awesome captain had many sea faring stories to share)! This is such a huge, beautiful house that has everything you'd need to enjoy time with a big group. It has four master bedrooms and another room with 4 single beds, plus two private sleeping structures. The pool was perfect. Ally was super accommodating and assisted many of my friends with transportation out of Tamarindo. We had monkeys in the trees and also caught a lightning storm out over the ocean. Would whole-heartedly recommend this place.

Cook Patricia is a gem.The infinity pool was perfect, and the grounds are lush and teeming with wildlife. We enjoyed seeing howler monkeys roaming in the branches above us, iguanas and beautiful birds. The sunsets each night were spectacular on our quiet little stretch of sandy beach. We had breakfast a couple of mornings at the hotel next door. The kids were the happiest I’ve ever seen them. So much to do they were never bored. This vacation will be hard to beat. We were originally scheduled to go to the Virgin Islands but mother nature cancelled those plans with back to back hurricanes which left us scrambling for a plan B. Everyone we dealt with from the booking representative Kate to Aly the concierge was great. They definitely turned "plan B" into "plan A+". The house is in a great location as it is far enough from the main town to afford some privacy but close enough to walk or take a cab for $5. The beach was fascinating. With the rock formations and tidal pools created at low tide, there was something new to see every day and the sunsets were gorgeous. The house itself offers privacy to everyone while at the same time providing lots of opportunity for group activities. There were six couples and we were very comfortable. The pool was a big hit with everyone and was big enough for everyone without feeling crowded. Cook Patricia was amazing. She cooked breakfast for us most days and did two of the best dinners we had. So yummy! Aly was also great in helping arrange transportation, adventure tours and dinner reservations. She also did a great job in helping set up a DJ at the house for our birthday party. What a fun and memorable evening. Overall, great experience and we can't wait to go back.

The layout of the house worked very well for our group, giving everyone enough privacy, bedspace and bathrooms to keep everyone happy. The house itself is gorgeous with a very open floor plan - lots of community space for a large group. It is right on the beach and you can sit in the infinity pool and watch the sunset over the ocean! The house has an electronic front gate and a security system as well. The house also comes with a housekeeper and caretaker - both always seemed to work in the background - never in the way but their work was evident. We had lots of small geckos and crabs visiting the grounds, and Howler Monkeys were in the trees across the street every morning and evening. They make some unusual sounds that you get used to pretty quickly - they never bothered us. Also, Stay In Tamarindo had a concierge that works with the property. Ally contacted me right after booking and she was very helpful as we completed planning for the trip. She helped with airline transfers (from Liberia), rental cars, and also help schedule a cook for us (Cook Patricia). For this many people for the week, a cook is the only way to go and Patrica was fantastic. She cooked breakfast and dinner for us everyday and every meal drew great praise. This was a fantastic vacation home.

Casa de Luz far exceeded my expectations! We rented the property for the family to stay at and to hold our wedding at. The beach was perfect for the ceremony, and the pool deck was fantastic for the reception! We had 40 guests and there was ample space for everyone that evening. I particularly enjoyed that the pool is not chlorine but ozanation making the water more gentle on sensitive skin. All and all if i ever have a need for a large casa again we will be back to Casa de Luz for sure! Not to mention that Aly was fantastic and extremely helpful with anything I needed as a nervous bride with last minute needs and guestions.

The house and the location were beautiful. The pool and the private beach area were absolutely perfect. I loved being able to wake up and take my coffee to the beach without ever having to leave the property. Langosta is also far enough from town that it is peaceful and quiet. It was a bit too far to walk conveniently, so we rented a golf cart which was great. Our concierge was named Aly and she was awesome. So helpful!! We were in Tamarindo for our wedding and she helped with coordinating travel for a guests and so much more. Loved her! The only downside is that there were some maintenance issues while we were there. They weren't huge problems, but at this price point, I expect everything to be working properly. The gate was broken which made me a little uncomfortable as far a safety goes. We ended up not having anyone stay in the casita in the courtyard because of that. Other houses on this street have actual security guards outside the gate and our gate wasn't even closed... We had no problems, it just didn't make me feel good. Also we had a sprinkler issue or something that required turning the water to the pool house off until it was resolved. It was fixed quickly, so not a big deal. Overall, I loved my stay here and I would definitely recommend it!

It was so perfect because we each had our own bedroom with full bathroom. Everything in this house is well thought out and in superb condition. We had been traveling prior and it was so refreshing and relaxing to come here and have it all taken care of. The housekeeping service daily was fantastic! We even hired a cook to come for breakfast and dinner which made it easier to relax and not worry about cooking and cleaning. The excursions booked by Aly were perfect and we ended with couples massages at the house overlooking the beach. I would love to come back one day. I cannot think of one flaw with this house and service. Oh and it's not mentioned much but the snorkeling right outside is the best in Tamarindo. When the tide is low, we went out with the kids and could touch so it made it easy to teach them how to snorkel. We saw a variety of fish, eels and octopus.

I've been traveling down to CR for several years and this is one of the best villas we've rented. Its far enough from town to have some peace and quiet, but close enough that it wasn't a chore to venture in. I recommend it for anyone! During low tide, you can even stroll into town via the beach, but I'm certain its impossible during high tide. The grounds were clean and safe and we had no issues at all. The gate to the property locks at night and the car and personal items in the house were of no concern. The beach was pristine and the sunsets were perfectly amazing. We received the chef service for two meals each day and they were great! They even accommodated for the food allergies! (Celiacs take note) For our dinners in town, Aly took care of us with recommendations and we found those restaurants superb. It was a great visit and I will consider another trip in the future.

My Wife and I took the whole family to Casa De Luz in Dec 2016 (15 total people). The house accommodated us nicely. The property was very well maintained (only minor issue was hot water did not work in the Casita but not a big deal as there were plenty of showers in the main house). The onsite staff did a nice job but does not speak English and they keep a low profile. When you needed to you can communicate with them fine. The cook Patricia was excellent and every meal was enjoyed by all, even by the finicky eaters. She prepared two breakfast' and 5 dinners. All were excellent. And finally, Aly was a great Concierge to deal with. She arranged excursions, dinner reservations (2 nights), and all transportation for excursions and airport transfers. She also arranged a rental car that was dropped off and picked up at the house which was very convenient. Aly recommended a private 52' Sail Boat Sunset cruise which was the highlight of the trip. The crew on the boat were exceptional and the boat itself is in great shape. Highly recommended! Actually for large groups I recommend this house as you will not be disappointed.

It is not on a sandy beach but rather volcanic rock. There are many tide pools during low tide to explore and the kids loved it. The staff at the house was exceptional. we hired in Patricia to cook 2 breakfast's and dinners and all were excellent! Aly was a great help setting everything up from Patricia to excursions and everything in between. we had 15 people and were comfortable. It states it can sleep 23 but that would be tight. For a large group I would recommend this property.

All together we had a great experience and felt like we were VIP´s in every aspect of our stay. Diego and Patricia are a great couple full of desire to work. They pampered us to the max, cooked 2 incredible meals and even went to the store for some supplies. At the end of the second night we called them and applauded them for their attentions and gave them a $200 tip. They are a super added value to the experience. Both masseuses were also great. We had in the end 6 massages and the setting was incredible next to the pool with the sounds of the Ocean in the background. Zaida was also great. Some of the guys left their used clothes on their bed and when they came back they were washed and folded. We didn't expect that level. We gave Zaida $100, please let me know if this was ok or if more is required as I forgot if there was an extra charge for that service. Edwin was great on our transfers to 4 seasons and was very informative. The house itself was very convenient and private and the property management app was impressive. We had a great time. Thank you again Erin for all your efforts in finding the perfect house for our golf group and Aly and Gilda for all the logistics and services. We definitely will repeat very soon... Thanks to all. We had a great time together. The house was big enough that three families could each have their side of the house and come together for meals, play, and activities. Aly, the concierge, was available all the time and did wonders on short notice to get us scheduled for activities and to remedy any small issues with the house. She also met us right at the house and gave a quick intro. The place is amazing. It has chairs right on the beach which have been great to just relax and enjoy the quiet in the morning and the sunset in the evening. There is a nice bed & breakfast next door that we have used three times for breakfast when we had a slow start to the day. I would definitely recommend staying here and would love to come back again.

The property was so beautiful--the pictures are accurate. The weather, even though it was supposed to be the rainy season--was perfect. Our concierge, Aly, was so accommodating and professional. Her advice for excursions, spa treatments, etc was so helpful. The people that cleaned the house and the pool area every day were fantastic--you didn't even know they were in the house. And we never did figure out how she knew what clothes went in what room--but she did overtime. Patricia, her husband and son fixed some fantastic dinners for us and were so pleasant. All in all, I couldn't find one possible complaint. Can't wait to go back!

Of course, if you had let us plan your trip arrangements; ground transportation etc, everything would have been seamless; we would have known exactly what time you were scheduled to arrive at the home, and not kept you waiting at all (the car rental car quotes would also have been accurate, unlike what you experienced booking with another agency). I was thrilled to hear that the White Water Rafting and Ziplining were a huge success with all 4 generations of your group, and I commend you for taking on such organization of a big trip for your entire family! I arrived to Tamarindo and the house I had previously booked was not safe or clean and I needed to find another home immediately. I found this home hosted by Lucas and send him a request at 10:00 PM. The next morning he called and arranged to pick up my family at 11:00 am and allowed us to check in 4 hours early. He was so helpful and accommodating. I can't thank him enough. The only problem is that we didn't want to leave!! We will definitely find our way back there in the future.

The home was wonderfully spacious, the pool was amazing and the rocky oceanfront provided hours of tide-pool viewing and snorkeling fun. We had a group of 10 adults and 10 kids, 4 of which were under 1 year old. The house worked perfectly for us. The bigger kids all enjoyed sleeping in the bunk room (which sleeps 6 kids comfortably). Aly, the house manager, was quick to respond to our questions and needs. She even lent us her DVD player as the one at the house was being replaced. The short drive to town was convenient for when we wanted to go get ice cream and swim at beautiful sandy beach. The walk to the sandy beach was about 20 min but was a very easy walk along the ocean. I highly recommend Casa de Luz. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We booked Casa de Luz with 4 families for spring break and it was amazing. Adults and kids ages 6 - 14, all had the time of their life! The house was amazing (the pictures don't even do it justice), the concierge really helped to organize and book great activities and restaurants! Our whole party learned to surf, loved walking on the beach in front of the house and watching sunset, enjoyed swimming in the pool from morning till night, and just hung out with friends. It was a great combination of adventure and relaxation. We will definitely be back!

Exceeded expectations. House, grounds, views, location, Aly, Diego, sun & sea ... Pura Vida perfection!!! Sea frontage is great for snorkling, short walk to waves and sand for kids. Pool fantastic. The activities Aly recommended and arranged for us were great fun! House was comfortable, safe and secure. Great for families. Tamarindo was quaint and easy to navigate. Great food at home prepared by chef and also many dinning options in town. Costa Rica, Tamarindo and Casa de Luz exceeded expections for a FABULOUS vacation!

Can't say enough about Casa De Luz. Had a chauffer/concierge waiting for us at the airport. The house was in excellent shape. The house service was exceptional. Fridge was stocked and we had private chef service a few nights. Beautiful view of the pacific ocean made for a spectacular sunset. I can't say enough about Edwin. He was outstanding!!! Anytime we needed ANYTHING, he always answered the phone and was there to help the group. He brought us to a couple excursions and was very knowledgeable about the country side and the area. Walking into Casa De Luz we were greeted by Ally, our concierge. She arranged our travel from the airport, had the fridge stocked with items for a late arrival snack and took the time to show us the house, all that was available and stay longer to help us plan our stay. She recommended and arranged tours that suited our group perfectly. Case De Luz is elegant comfort. All of the rooms are spacious, elegant comfort and quiet. We had beachfront view and a spectacular nightly sunset. You could take a 15 min walk into town along the beach playing tag with the waves. Nightly swims in the pool after dinner either at home or in one of the local restaurants. Daily housekeeping and groundskeeper service allowing you to feel like you were on vacation at your own home. Casa De Luz, Ally and the team exceeded my expectations.

We just returned from the most spectacular week at Case De Luz. My husband and myself took our 5 children(ages 19-26) and a friend and significant others(10 people total). The week was nothing short of magnificent! The house was everything we hoped, beautiful, clean, comfortable and roomy, with enough space for everyone plus plenty of indoor and outdoor relaxing space. Included was a housekeeper who came daily to clean and exchange towels etc. the pool was beautiful, we brought down rafts and tubes and thoroughly enjoyed using them in the pool and ocean(and left them for others to enjoy after we left. The beach, although rocky was still great to swim and use the boogie boards...water shoes are a must though at the house, while the Tamarindo beach is rock free! Aly, the fabulous concierge that I emailed for months to help plan all the perfect activities for us all to enjoy. I can't say enough about her knowledge and professionalism. She was a pleasure to work with and made sure we had everything we needed including stocking the house with food prior to our arrival, restaurant recommendations and the best activities with the best companies in Tamarindo. We were smart enough to have Patricia and her wonderful husband Diego cook for us 6 out of the 7 nights and breakfast on our departing day. The best decision we made(besides picking this house!)The food was fabulous, we all ate like kings! They will take allergies, likes, dislikes etc. into consideration but it was easy since we all eat everything, but options were made for 2 with lactose intolerance. They were a pleasure to have in the house and we not only loved the food but they were very lovely and professional. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Best family vacation ever. Can't rave enough about everything!!!

This was my 2nd stay at Casa De Luz. I find this house to be a great blend of the service that you would expect at a 4 star hotel and the comfort of being in your place. First the location is fantastic. It’s on the beach. The view from the pool can’t be beat. At the end of the day I would often just spend an hour or more hanging out in the pool looking at the beach as the sun sets. You can walk to town along the beach, never even stepping on a road. To be fair, to comfortably go swimming you do have to walk ~10min in either direction from the house. I like to run and I could do beach runs in either direction. Running south and crossing the river I had twice had a stretch of beach all to myself as far as I could see. One thing that really made staying at the house great was Aly, the concierge. Not only could she recommend the best tours but she made sure you got the best guides on the best tours. She arranged for tour pickups, rental car drop offs etc at the house. If anything isn’t going right she follows through to straightens it out. For food we used all the options, we did cooking ourselves several nights, had a chef come in and cook for us another night, had food delivered from the local restaurants and of course went into Tamarindo for several delicious dinners at restaurants she recommended. We also went next door for tasty and relaxed breakfast at the Sueño del Mar B&B. This last time I stayed in the pool casita. The bed faces the ocean through a large glass doors and you could hear the waves breaking as you went to sleep. Couldn’t think of a more ideal place. Between the concierge, pool, optional cook, along with the daily maid service, we had all the services you would get at hotel and with all the comfort and space of being in your own house on the beach. Just loved it.

Plenty of room for entertainment, a spectacular ozone pool, a private beach front with a great Bed and Breakfast just next door for breakfast. A true paradise within Costa Rica.

We stayed at this magical property in early June 2015 with the family and WOW - what a great, relaxing and memorable time we had! From the moment we arrived we were so happy to have landed our sandle-clad feet in this place. There's no detail left out - from the very well stocked kitchen, the cleaning service that came every day and helped with our every need (without even asking!), and amenities that make us melt with joy. Small example: You connect your iPod to the main receiver and pipe the music throughout the entire property - each zone having independent sound levels. There's tons of separate spaces here and there to gather - a small group might sit around the outside tiki bar chatting it up over home-made margharitas while another sits under the porch in the very comfortable couches. The pool area is another and we utilized it between the times we were playing in the ocean not far away. We splurged one night and had their recommended personal chef make us an amazing dinner with Nicaragan filet, grilled prawns and several amazing sides which all worked together - and ended up being one of the best meals we had during our 10 day Costa Rica trip. Another bonus for us was the B&B right next door which shares the same beach area - just walk through the gate to the beach, take a right turn and you're on the very quaint and very well kept property that servers the best breakfast in all of Tamarindo - hands down - and super friendly to boot. All in all and without a doubt - the nicest property I've ever rented and look forward to a return trip!

This spacious villa had more than enough space for our ten guests, affording privacy for the four adults and ample room to romp for the 6 kiddos. The beach access allowed for many pleasant walks along the shore and all the way into town. Aly the concierge was always available, and set us up for the very best activities in the vicinity. Daily housekeeping was exceptional, even did our laundry daily as well. Added bonus? Dozens of howler monkeys reside in the trees around the home. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay at Case de Luz! We were two families brought together to celebrate both of our sons senior year of high school spring break. We could not have asked for a better villa and location. I miss the sunsets and mornings spent in the chairs on the beach. I also miss Chef Patricia's wonderful meals!! I would highly recommend her services as she has talent. We cant wait to return and we are already checking schedules to figure out our next Tamarindo adventure.

I cannot say enough about this property meeting & exceeding our expectations. We are a family of 9, consisting of grandchildren, 11 & 13, and our adult children. This house was perfect for all three generations. The location is far enough away from town to be peaceful, but close enough (5 min by car, 15-20 min walk) to take advantage of all the restaurants, grocery store & night life. The property provides lots of space for everyone. My hubby & I chose to stay in the detached casita by the pool area, where we could enjoy a little "quiet time" on the back patio, not to mention the private outdoor shower. We were there when it was exceptionally hot & found the air-conditioning & ceiling fans to provide a comfortable temp to sleep. However, most of our time was spent outdoors...either in the pool, sitting on the beach or up on the patio area off the main house. This house easily handled our family, but it should be noted that if you are planning on sharing with another family or two, not all 6 bedrooms are of equal size. There is the aforementioned casita, with its own kitchenette, sitting area & queen bed. There are 2 king & 2 queen suites in the main house that are very roomy & well appointed. The 6th room, however, is very small & located off the front courtyard. While it does have its own bathroom, it's really not suitable for a child, nor is it large enough for a couple. In addition to an amazing property, you get the services of the best concierge. Aly is the "go to" gal for everything you need to help make your vacation go smoothly ...and she does it all with a graciousness that makes you feel as if you've known her forever. Communication prior to our arrival was handled promptly & she was available via phone/text while we were in CR. The activities were great, but the highlight had to be the dinner prepared for us at the house by local chef, Patricia. In fact, we ended up requesting her for a 2nd night & were lucky enough that she was available. Such a treat to eat a delicious meal without leaving our home away from home. I'd also recommend the B&B next door for a wonderful breakfast. Just walk out to the beach & turn right. Can't wait to return to Costa Rica & will choose to stay at Casa de Luz again.
