Casa Amuga

Where do I start? This is such a beautiful home and location! Everything my group and I had hoped for and more. The house is a few minute walk from the beach, which never gets too crowded and has amazing views, especially for those looking to get great sunset photos. Cris helped us with recommendations, connecting us to transportation, and answered any questions we had, making our trip a breeze! The house mom, Yami, did wonderful job helping us feel at home, providing breakfast and snacks! This is an amazing place to stay for a Costa Rican adventure!

Our stay in Playa Grande was amazing! The house was clean and so close to the beach. The beach in Playa Grande is the nicest beach I’ve ever been on. No vendors, not to many people and the perfect mix of surf and sand. Our host Cristina was very helpful. She made herself super available for questions and was always quick to respond. Our house mom Yami was also excellent and very attentive. They were both incredibly helpful and definitely made the trip that much better.

Our stay at Casa Amuga in Playa Grande was phenomenal! The villa was beautiful, had everything you could need for a day at the beach, and perfectly accommodated our group of 9. Cris was great at setting up the excursions we requested. Yami made delicious breakfasts and snacks plus kept the house in immaculate condition. We felt safe and at home our entire stay.

Casa Amuga was absolutely stunning. The perfect location and had all of the amenities we could desire. Yami was hands down the best part of staying at Casa Amuga, her daily breakfast and cleaning made traveling with kids actual feel like a vacation. Cris was fantastic as well, she gave us great recommendations and helped us find a local babysitter and baby gear rentals to make the trip even easier. 10/10 would recommend and visit again!

We had a great stay! The house is beautiful and well laid out for a party of any size. It is a quick walk to the beach and very private. Cris was wonderfully helpful and friendly. Great experience all around.

We loved our stay in Playa Grande! The house is even more beautiful (and larger) than the pictures-which was perfect for our large group traveling together. The casita with bunks is not connected to the main house, which is good to note if traveling with younger kids…but would be perfect for older kids.
The house is beautiful and a short walk to the beach. Would recommend a golf cart or car rental to get to restaurants/surf board rental locations, etc.
Cris goes above and beyond to make your trip incredible. We felt so taken care of by her during our trip, and she was incredibly quick to respond and help out when we needed anything. Truly an incredible host.
Yami is also amazing! She was there to cook and clean and do laundry at the house and we were so lucky to have her there. She made delicious breakfasts for us!
Overall, a great spot in the jungle just a short walk from the beach. Would definitely stay here again!

The only drawback were the roads into the house, very bumpy. And the internet went out for a few days. Grandkids weren't happy about that! Cris was very helpful in planning our excursions and got back to us in a very short time. Yamy, who came to make breakfast, clean the bathrooms and bedrooms, make Pina coladas and guacamole in the afternoon for us was amazing!! We loved having her there!! The house was perfect for the 13 of us and liked that we were within walking distance of the beach and small little restaurants were also very good. Thank you for a wonderful 12 days in Playa Grande, Costa Rica.

We had a group of 10 girls arrive for our stay but we had a bumpy ride getting to our visit due to airline delays. Cris was FABULOUS and accommodated all of our needs. The house was gorgeous and we had an amazing time at the Airbnb. Would highly recommend and use this Airbnb again.

The whole trip was one seamless and smooth experience. I’m sure in no small part because of Cris who was outstanding. She went above and beyond in terms of communication, setting up experiences and transportation, giving recommendations. All of the drivers were so nice and sometimes doubled as our guide (eg Poza Los Coyotes). We had a great time. Thanks!

We had a lovely stay during our time at Casa Amuga. We loved the quick access to the beach and the layout/setup of the property which allowed us to have the kids in the out-building with their own space. The daily breakfast and snacks throughout the day was a nice perk. Our only watchouts would be that there is some construction going on across the street and a couple houses down that starts early and ends late and you should be ready for a 30-minute drive to Tamarindo. It's 2 miles as the crow flies, but 30 minutes to drive around the estuary.

The home was exceptional. Plenty of space for our family of 6. Beautiful, functional, full of great small amenities. Quick walk to an incredible beach, a mini-mart & local restaurants (Pots & Bowl, Las Olas, Onda). Cris & Yami provided great service. Cris was always quick to respond and provide recommendations. Great location to explore the surrounding areas (ATV excursion, La Leona, Playa Conchal, Tamarindo, horseback riding).

Lovely home! Nice TVs but never really watched. Having a concierge was a real treat. Aside from the 3 days we were all up and gone before Yamy arrived, enjoyed her breakfasts and late day pin coladas.Too bad electricity went out, but Chris was on top of it. Andres was a terrific guide. His knowledge and humor was entertaining. Martin Gehlhaus

Amazing stay! Couldn't have picked a better home, location, and host. The photos does this place no justice. When I walk into the property, I was completely blown away. Cris our host was amazing to work with. Waited for us to arrive, even after we were stuck in traffic for hours. Had a minor accident with a TV and Cris was very professional and understanding and handled the manner with ease. The young lady who helped around the property everyday, was also amazing and super sweet and made us feel right at home. All in all, it was an amazing stay! It would be unwise not stay here. So book NOW before I do! :)

We had an amazing time at Casa Amuga. It is located just a short walk from the beach which is absolutely gorgeous. Communication with our concierge, Cristina was excellent. She was very helpful in planning our excursions and answered any questions we had in a timely fashion. The home was perfect for our family of 14 and very clean thanks our housekeeper, Jammy. We would definitely recommend this property!

Overall a dream stay for 10 ppl Daniella and Cris are amazing hosts. The house was clean, well stocked, well maintained and easy to maintain while on vacation. Concierge service saved us time and money, defiantly recommend making use of the service. Will be back

Casa Amuga was the perfect location for our group (7 adults and 3 kids aged 8-10). The pool was a good size for the kids to play around in for hours, there are always sunny and shady spots to hang out in throughout the day, the rooms are all a good size and each one has a bathroom and it’s walking distance to the beach. Our host , Cris, helped us arrange 2 amazing chefs for dinners throughout the week and made sure we had everything we needed. There is a “housemom” who comes and makes breakfast most days and cleans up. Her name was Daniella, she was very kind and helpful and made us delicious cocktails, guacamole and pico de gallo. The area is quiet and away from the busyness of other beaches but easy driving distance to great attractions. It was a fantastic stay and I would highly recommend it.

Truly everything about Cara Amuga was exceptional. Beautiful villa, amazing beach that was only steps away, fabulous support staff, very clean and modern amenities galore. So much fun in the pool and we saw Coatis and Howler Monkeys most days! Our concierge Cris was very responsive, kind and helpful and our in-house support Dani was also so lovely and took fabulous care of us. We had groceries delivered in advance - so grateful for this service, went on a catamaran trip and had many transportation supports lined up through Cris — this was also really appreciated. After seeing several beaches, Playa Grande was our fave for sure and walking to playa carbon to see the black sand is highly recommended. Those Playa Grande sunsets are incredible! Thank you so much!

Un lugar espectacular, con un acceso inmejorable a una de las playas más hermosas de Costa Rica, esos atardeceres que renuevan energías y nos llevan a profunda meditación, la casa tal como las imágenes, hermosa, limpia y la atención con mucha calidez humana, muy agradecidos con Cristina por la atención brindada a nuestra familia, volveríamos? Beautiful pristine new house only a few minutes walk to the waves. Exactly as pictured. I loved it and want to go back.
Christine the property manager was great at dealing with all requests and pointing us to great restaurants - and Daniela the house keeper made a delicious brunch and kept the house spotless. I’d definitely go back to walk along the beautiful beaches, surf, and eat at both Pots & Bowls plus Casa Inti again and again! For anyone needing to stay connected to the office like me the WiFi was fast - video calls no problem. The day we arrived it was slow but Christine had it fixed right away. Short power outages seem to last a few seconds to minutes almost daily in Costa Rica but LTE cell connection was strong and reliable backup! If you want to relax and/or work you’ll get the best of both worlds- disconnected and connected at the same time. And extremely well fed!
