Stay in Tamarindo Terms and Conditions
A 25% or 50% (depending on property) deposit must be received upon the time of reservation, the remaining balance needs to be paid 30 days prior to your arrival.* (If reservation is booked within 30 days prior to check-in, transfer should be made in full).

We understand the need for increased flexibility in travel planning right now. To help our valued guests, we offer the following special policy for our Costa Rica vacation rentals & services.
All reservations made after March 9, 2021, will get an 85% refund if cancelled 60+ days before the arrival date (excluding Thanksgiving and Christmas/ New Years). All Holiday dates are refundable until April 1, 2021. After April 1, 2021 all Holiday reservations are no longer refundable unless the dates are able to be re-rented for the specific Costa Rica Vacation Rental.
Within the 60 days, there are no refunds unless the range of dates specified in the contract and the total amount is recovered through another rental contract. If the property is able to be rented for the same time period at the same rate, Stay in Tamarindo will refund all payments minus all administrative and credit card/banking fees. If Stay in Tamarindo cannot re-rent the property, the company will reserve the right to keep the full payment.
We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance which can be provided through Stay in Tamarindo. We cooperate with The Rental Guardian and they offer 2 different options – one is “cancel for any reason” – which covers you also for cancellations within 30 days before arrival. Ask us for details.
Check-In & Check-Out
Check-in time is between 3 and 10 pm. | Check-out time is 10 am.
If you would like to request a late check-out, please confirm with the Stay in Tamarindo staff ahead of time to ensure we don’t have any one-day turnovers.
Either a damage voucher with a hold on your credit card will be needed before your check in or a $500/$1000/$2000 (depending on property) rental security deposit is required 30 days before your arrival, which will be refunded to the same credit card the deposit is taken from, provided nothing is broken or missing. If something does get broken or turns up missing or house rules were broken, the value of these items will be taken away from the security deposit.
Occupants & Visitors
With the exception of guests registered in the original booking number, outside visitors not pre-approved with Stay in Tamarindo are not allowed at any time inside the premises.
We are a strictly non-smoking rental. We ask that you not smoke in the house at all. If evidence of smoking, such as the smell of cigarettes inside the home and/or cigarette burns on the furniture, is noticed by the cleaning crew there will be a $500 damage assessment.
Pets are strictly not allowed unless otherwise discussed with Stay in Tamarindo.
We have some pet-friendly homes, ask our reservations agents which homes are pet-friendly and they will help you find one and explain you the rules.
Volume & Noise Control
Our properties are part of beautiful residential neighborhoods where other residents are mutually respectful of each other’s privacy. We ask that you please refrain from having raucous late-night parties and especially from playing loud music or making excessive noise after 10 pm. or before 8 am.
We ask that the occupants take full responsibility for securing their personal belongings. Please lock your valuables whenever leaving the house. Stay in Tamarindo is not responsible for any lost or damaged personal items.
AC, Electricity & Water
Stay in Tamarindo is an ecologically minded business, we ask that you obey the following guidelines in regards to conserving energy: When using the air-conditioning units, please remember to turn them off when not in use and keep usage to a minimum. Also, please turn off all lights when you leave any room.
